I promise I won’t bite!
TBHK has lots of popular LGBTQ+ ships, (Mitusba and Kou, Akane and Teru, Aoi and Nene, Hanako and Kou.. etc..) though most people accept most of these will never be canon to the series, AidaIro has given us some gay crumbs throughout the series since chapter one,
I love how despite how Kou has developed super complicated feelings towards supernaturals, he still clings onto the old habit of having 0 respect when referring to them by name! A short 🧵!!
SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 115!!
I mean I wasn’t THAT far off..!! no idea why Kou’s staff is still sealed despite Hanako never sealing it in the first place??
Live laugh love TBHK OC’s!!
I’ll draw more soon so feel free to give me any OC’s you have that you’d like to see!! I’ll try to Color them too if I can! (о´∀`о)
When I think about how AidaIro represents gay characters in TBHK, I immediately think about Teru and his countless admirers, both Male and Female. It’s outright STATED how he’s popular among both men and women since the very first chapter. Teru doesn’t seem to mind this either…
LOOK AT WHAT MY SIS GOT ME FROM A CON?? LITERALLY JUMPING FROM JOY!!
The toilet trio + Mitsuba stickers are by
@cattnipt
but she didn’t get the name of the Aoi sticker artist so please please let me know if you know who made it so I can credit them properly and look them up! :3
Satou and Yokoo have repeatedly joked about being a married couple,
and they even make similar jokes about Kou!
TBHK definitely isn’t shy with having gay undertones, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a canon wlw or mlm couple, but only time can really tell.
There are vague hints that Sousuke/Mitsuba are gay, or at least not into girls, as both are shown to have little to no interest any girl, claiming to be cuter than any of them, never addressing their thoughts on boys, though!
we even get small crumbs in the Spin-off, with Hanako caring whether Kou he thought he was cute, Sakura stating it doesn’t matter if she’s a man or woman, Natsuhiko still loving Sakura as a man, even willing to ‘become a woman!’ in case her preferences are different, and so on..
We see plenty of gay jokes in TBHK, although the words gay or lesbian are never used, Nene mistakes Tsuchigomori for being gay when he was telling her about his Yorishiro,
Sousuke accuses Kou of being attracted to him when they first met, and Mitsuba mistakes Kou trying to-
Aoi openly only talks about boys when it comes to romance, specifically with Nene, so any girls who may like Aoi simply don’t pursue her because they assume she’s straight and have 0% chance with her to begin with, while the boys try to confess to her in hopes of having a chance.
Characters like Nene are shown to at least get flustered around the same gender at times, since we’ve seen her outright call Sakura a ‘babe’ in the Tea party arc while blushing, admitting that Aoi’s made her heart bound because of her “popular girl charm” and even
get a bit flustered at Mei when she carried her like a prince!!
in the school festival we even see her get caught up at Natsuhiko’s classes juice stand, admiring the girl in the suit inviting her. although we’ve only ever seen Nene fantasise about men and male attention,
Although Teru’s charm captures the hearts of both genders in the series, I find it interesting how we don’t see this with Aoi, a girl who rivals Teru in popularity. We’ve only ever seen men state their affection to her and the girls seem to even have a strong distaste for Aoi,
And although Teru claims to have feelings for Aoi, giving off the impression that he’s attracted to girls, he never seems bothered or uncomfortable with having guys crush on him and never directly states whether he’s into girls, boys, both or neither.
“And unlike last time, that’s it. We’ll never see each other again, and I won’t be able to save you.”
“So?”

.
“..I hate you so much.”

since many men those girls might wish to pursue only have eyes for the popular beauty.
I’m not entirely sure why Aidairo avoids giving Aoi open female admirers, but my best guess is that;
When we see Teru rejecting the girl confessing to him all the way back in Chapter 1, he stated that he has feelings for someone else, hence why he can’t accept her confession. We don’t know if Teru was simply saying this to kindly reject the girl, if he was actually referring to-
When Kou refers to other pupils or people in general, he always uses respectful honorifics like san, sometimes it feels a little TOO respectful, when despite being good friends with Nene, even letting her call him Kou-kun, he still only ever calls her senpai.
THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE COMPLIMENTS AND SUPPORT?? OVER SOME WHITEBOARD DOODLES so in celebration obviously I’m dropping even more whiteboard doodles!!
But it does create some pretty funny situations when it comes to other supernaturals like Yako, who DO care about what honorifics are used, and gets ticked off at Kou literally calling her Fox. Kou won’t even stay mindful to Tsuchigomori, his own teacher, calling him spider-face.
Kind of lost my mind last night and started making Pokémon teams for TBHK characters!!
Don’t mind the unfinished doodles and shitty Pokémon as I haven’t drawn them since like 2019?? Still figuring out/drawing Kou’s and Hanako’s teams! (*´-`)
Kou doesn’t struggle with separating ghosts and supernaturals from humans, always getting a certain “vibe” from supernaturals humans don’t have, so he probably developed the habit from Teru, someone with 0 respect for any supernaturals, because he knows the two aren’t the same.
@ddiamondtearss
My best guess is that his family sealed it for Kou’s safety, he has a much more active role as an exorcist in this timeline but likely couldn’t properly control his lightning so somebody like his father likely sealed it much like his grandma sealed Hanako in the old timeline!
Still makes up for great entertainment when we see Kou interacting with supernaturals because the boy has 0 filter when referring to them!! Thank you for reading and end of 🧵!! (o^^o)
The only ones we see him use casual honorifics/none are his family (Teru-nii, Princess) and close male friends (Satou and Yokoo) but there is one more exception, supernaturals!
Kou doesn’t even bother using honorifics when talking to, or about any supernaturals, which doesn’t pose as a big deal when he does this with characters like Hanako or Mitsuba, as they don’t seem to really mind the casual, almost rude way of referring to them,

Kou can make anything taste good with some spice and a quick round on a pan..
I think we’ll get to see Kou overcome the Seal placed by Hanako in the near future.. the boy has improved a LOT! Who knows, maybe that’s why Hanako placed the seal in the first place. If Kou can overpower a seal placed by the leader of the school mysteries all by himself-
Maybe even stronger than he was in the beginning of he series with the Raiteijyou WITHOUT the seal. Kou’s able to make some big blasts! We didn’t get to see a proper glimpse of his palms in this fight, but from the happy look he had, I think he can channel lightning correctly now
In the Night life arc, we see Kou finally exorcise his first supernaturals with 0 hesitation. (depends whether or not you consider Kou defeating Hakubo as his first exorcism) We get to see Kou use his Staff to its full capability despite the seal, Kou is much stronger than before
Kou at this point had never fought, let alone exorcised a supernatural before, he wasn’t capable of channeling the lighting correctly so as a result, he got hurt using the Raiteijyou, too. Hanako sealed the staff to protect himself, and as I like to think, to protect Kou too.

@Yugifingers
mentioned It’s likely a reference to the frog and duck book by Max Velthjus, a story about two buddies enjoying a fun day together and at the end promising to be friends forever!! It’s a popular book from Holland.(^ν^)
That’d definitely prove that he has great potential as an exorcist. Now that he can channel his lighting correctly, and that he’s gotten experience in battle now, he’d put up a good fight with more powerful supernaturals like Hanako, Tsukasa and such.. only the future can tell!
End of 🧵!! This is my first time writing a thread, let alone ranting about my Tbhk opinions online, so feel free to add on if you have anything to say or correct any mistakes I might’ve made! Thank you for reading!! o(`ω´ )o
When Kou was first introduced, he gave us a simple explanation how anti-spirit lighting worked and how it was an important family heirloom. It uses the spiritual energy from the user into powerful lighting so the weapons strength greatly varies depending on who’s bearing it.
In picture perfect, Shijima is able to actually remove the seal therefore we get to see the full power of the Raiteijyou yet again! It’s much more powerful than last time but we also see that even then, the lighting still shocks Kous hands as well. Kou still needs to practice..
And despite Terus sword likely being much more powerful than Kous Raiteijyou, especially when sealed, in the few shots we see Kous palms there are no signs of him getting hit with his own lighting. Kou can channel his spiritual energy into lighting without hurting himself now.
As a result of Hanako’s seal, for a while at least, the Raiteijyou was practically useless, being a blunt force object at best. Yet as we progress through the story, it seems that the seal is weakening, or perhaps Kou is simply getting stronger.
Then comes his fight with Hakubo..unlike all of his other fights, in this one Kou actually ditches his staff and uses Terus Lighting sword, as it is not sealed like the Raiteijyou and has a history of exorcising Onis like Hakubo.
Apparently chapter raws are starting to get leaked so I’m disappearing until the full chapter release because i would rather stick a metal rod up my ass than get spoiled ^_^ pls let me know when there’s a fully translated chapter but up until then SMELL YA LATER!!!
In chapter 115, I found Sousukes behaviour to be odd at best, if not straight up suspicious. So here’s a short 🧵 on why I think Sousuke remembers something about the previous timeline, or at the very least knows something we don’t!
TBHK has lots of popular LGBTQ+ ships, (Mitusba and Kou, Akane and Teru, Aoi and Nene, Hanako and Kou.. etc..) though most people accept most of these will never be canon to the series, AidaIro has given us some gay crumbs throughout the series since chapter one,
With overwhelming votes wishing for a fan-made TBHK AU, I’ve already gotten to work and hopefully will have mostly everything done by this week!! (*´ー`*)
I USUALLY DONT POST GIMMICKS BUT THIS IS AMAZING??!! WE STAND OUR GIRL MIZI!!!! (><)♡♡♡ THANK YOU FOR THE GORGEOUS GIMMICK VMPUNKS! (I love receiving gimmicks)
Just woke up to OVER A HUNDRED FOLLOWERS?! Thank you so much for the overwhelming support, especially on my first 🧵.. (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`) I’ll try to think of a way to celebrate this milestone soon!!
