RuNAVY to form a crew for «Admiral Kuznetsov» aircraft carrier again. It turned out that its crew was actually disbanded in 2017 when «Kuznetsov» began upgrading. So RuNAVY has to find ~1500 officers/sailors to return the ship back to service in 2024.

Mil source: RuNAVY conducts underwater tests of strategic unmanned vehicle (SUV) code name “Poseidon” (Status-6). Tests aim at checking “Poseidon” real nuclear engine which has been installed into SUV. Test’re going within protected sea area (White Sea ??) ->
USSR tested some screw designs and came to a conclusion that a seven blades screw was perfect for SSBN/SSNs of III gen but…USSR had no machine for metalworking those screws until 1984. So Soviet NAVY had to equip its first III gen boats

Summer 1990. USSR NAVY SSBN K-228 (667AU type/ Yankee class) was at the Brents Sea near Soviet territorial waters when her commander got an order to surface. The submarine surfaced and suddenly she was discovered 1/n ⬇️🧵

in 1968 a keel of a lead boat K-64 (Alfa/Lira/705 type) was laid. The sub had a liquid metal cooled nuclear reactor and underwater speed ~41 knots. Unique ship for that time but USSR NAVY wasn’t ready to operate so smart subs (7 subs). All boats were decommissioned too soon.
‼️ RuNAVY is going to raise a new division at Viluchinsk naval base (Kamchatka). The newly formed division to get 2 special submarines: K-329 «Belgorod» & «Khabarovsk»+maintenance vessel. Both boats are armed with Poseidon nuclear powered torpedoes. Pic via
