We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We extend our heart-felt condolences to all members of the Royal Family. We were honoured Her Majesty was our Patron from 1970.
Rosalind Franklin (1920-1958) earned fame as a physical chemist and X-ray crystallographer, with studies in DNA, RNA, viruses, coal and graphite. Her X-ray diffraction studies would later lead to the double helix theory on DNA.
