If goalkeepers are no longer allowed to dance around on the goal line, then PK takers shouldn’t be allowed to hesitate and stutter-step their approach to the ball.
This was you yesterday ⬇️. Encouraging young players NOT to play for Canada and for sponsors to abandon the program because a group of idiotic coaches decided to cheat.
You can FUCK RIGHT OFF!
These incredible athletes deserve our full support. So, let’s fill our timelines with support and well wishes for the CanWNT players — their resiliency, through generations of CSA challenges, is nothing short of AMAZING!
Proud of you all!
Hold your heads high!
Go Get It! 🇨🇦🙌🏻
Dear
@Concacaf
,
On
#InternationalWomensDay
, let this video be a reminder of your duty to protect female athletes and to provide them with playing conditions that reflect the elite quality of their game.
With everything that our CanWNT had to deal with at the Olympics (because of a group of cheating coaches), Janine Beckie took the time on July 30th to testify at the CAS appeal hearing — the day before the CAN vs COL match.
She’s a national treasure. 🇨🇦👊🏻
I look at these comparison pictures and wonder what could have been — here in Canada, after we hosted the 2015 Women’s World Cup — if we would have had a federation that valued Women’s soccer.
Hey,
@cbcsports
&
@CBCOlympics
! Our
@CANWNT
brought in 4.4 million viewers for you for their Olympic 🥇 game (largest audience for your Tokyo coverage). It would be great to see you broadcast their event on Friday: 🥇Celly;
@sincy12
goal record; and,
@stephlabbe1
retirement. 🙌🏻🇨🇦
A couple people have brought up the fact that the
#canWNTGold
celebration tour games in BC were not picked up by a broadcaster.
Disappointing to say the least, that Sincy’s homecoming/189 Celebration and Labbe’s retirement will not be broadcast to a larger audience.
⚽️ Only two of the 32 teams headed to the World Cup on July 20th DON’T have a domestic Women’s professional league.
One of them is CANADA.
Now consider all that the CanWNT has accomplished. Let that sink in.
LFG, 🇨🇦!!!
(Excerpt from FIFPRO.)
They had $100K to spend on a 7-part “WE CAN” documentary about the Men’s team, purchased billboard advertising promoting individual Men’s players ahead of the 2022 WC and had custom suits made for their board members … but now they have no money for the Women’s 🥉🥉🥇 program.
From the CAS Appeal Hearing: Acknowledging that the CanWNT players had no knowledge or involvement in the spying; acknowledging their “strength, character and spirit”; and, attributing that the harm caused to the players was a result of the actions of Canada Soccer.
Hey,
@kevinablue
and
@PeterAugruso
,
Negotiate a longer ban for the coaching staff in lieu of a smaller points deduction for the CanWNT. A 1-year ban in a lifelong coaching career vs being robbed of a 4-year Olympic cycle in a relatively short playing career? Protect the players!

Canada Soccer “exploring options to appeal on the basis that it is excessively punitive towards our Women’s National Team players”
Here’s the full statement.
🇨🇦 Jessie Fleming is one of 44 players playing in the World Cup who are donating money to offset the carbon footprint related to their travel to attend the World Cup.
(Excerpt from article below.)
Forty-four Women’s World Cup players, led by Denmark’s Sofie Junge Pedersen, have committed to taking climate action over the flights taken to and from Australia and New Zealand for the tournament

Last year you were on your knees begging the CanMNT not to boycott a game. But, this year when the CanWNT try to strike, you threaten to sue them personally, as well as their association. The World is watching you, Canada Soccer. You’ll reap what you sow.
Christine Sinclair explains why she hopes a talented and driven soccer player like Jessie Fleming both does and doesn’t make it to 300 caps for Canada.

I’m heartbroken for our 🇨🇦 players. This is not a reflection on them — but, their entire Olympic experience will be tainted by the actions of the CSA coaching staff. IMO, Priestman should have been sent home too — this happened under her watch. SO. UTTERLY. EMBARRASSING. 😔
⚽️🇨🇦 So impressed with Jesse Marsch — not just in his coaching, but in his professionalism and his willingness to speak the truth. Our CanMNT coach is the real deal, Canada! 👊🏻
Just catching up with Jesse Marsch's MD-1 presser:
"This tournament has not been professional for me...there's too many gaps in the treatment and the overall experience from a day-to-day perspective."
Says Canada were treated as "second class citizens"

Please consider streaming this live on your YouTube channel for those of us outside of the USA. There are many international players in the NWSL. This story is important to all of us.
So, PANvsUSA, (after a VAR review) Weah gets a red card for a head shove. But, CANvsPER, (after VAR review) absolutely no call is made for a López headbutt.

🤩 What an amazing team! 🇨🇦

⚽️🇨🇦 This was emotional … and funny. Olivia Smith is 5’4” and Priestman was on her tiptoes for the hug. 😁 Congratulations to Smith — great to see young players make it into the World Cup squad! 👏🏻
🍁🧤Hard to believe it’s been a year since

retired. Still miss the sound of her barking orders on the pitch. But, so glad she is continuing to have a huge impact on the game.

Love the Arsenal chant for our 🇨🇦, Cloé Lacasse!
“TWENTY FOUR! (LACASSE!)
Running down the wing (LACASSE!)
Hear the Arsenal Sing (LACASSE!)
Gonna win the League!”

Saves an Olympic PK with a fresh rib subluxation injury. Shuts down Olympic PK kickers from the average scoring rate of 77% down to only 46%. Wins a GOLD medal. Resiliency and mental fortitude at its best — BECAUSE of her mental health struggles! Struggle = Power, not Weakness!
The kits our

CSA players had to wear. From Peek-a-Littlejohn short-shorts to vastly oversized men’s hand-me-downs. (Dubs: Nice shoulder tuck into your sports bra straps and waistband roll and cinch.)

Just stop and really think about this — the CSA Board of Directors approved and flaunted the custom suits that they had made for themselves last year while knowing they didn’t have the money to fund games for our CanWNT. How are ANY of these people still on the CSA Board?
New: Canada Soccer faced crisis last fall amid preparations for the men's World Cup.
With 2 women's national team games scheduled in Nov. in Brazil, players were told CS couldn't afford their camp & trip.
Only a private-sector donation prevented WNT cancelation, source tells me.
⚽️ A truly historic day in 🇨🇦! 🙌🏻 Thank you to
@dmatheson8
,
@stephlabbe1
and countless other female athletes who have, and continue to, endure the inequality in female sports, but choose to persevere and build a better future for generations of female athletes in 🇨🇦. 🙏🫡
Can’t fund Youth/CanWNT camps, no home send-off game for the CanWNT, GE Appliances Canada has to donate $100,000 to help fund the CanWNT, BUT … Canada Soccer has the money to hire Neville and Shaw. You can’t make this sh!t up! 🤦🏻♀️
Phil Neville and Richard Shaw joining Canada Soccer' Men's National Team Coaching Staff 🍁
The two additions are effective immediately and will be part of Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team technical staff for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League Finals in Las Vegas.

Hey,

Any chance of your AMAZING podcast promoting the Vancouver game at the end of each show until we get BC Place SOLD-OUT on December 5th for Christine Sinclair’s final game for 🇨🇦? And then, let’s challenge other podcasts/shows to do the same!

No Canadian soccer player has had a bigger impact on the game. When Christine Sinclair wears 🍁 jersey number 12 for the last time, it should be permanently retired — a fitting tribute to a Canadian soccer Legend.
