A large military force is headed toward #Nur_Shams . This is the first incursion of either of the refugee camps in the last 2 weeks. The Israeli army carried out several nightly raids in #Tulkarem over the past 2 weeks, resulting in arrests. I report when bulldozers are involved.

For over 4 hours, the Israeli army has been destroying infrastructure, roads, homes, and other private properties in Tulkarem. Bulldozers hit a water pipe, cutting off water across #Tulkarem_RC . The incursion has also resulted in a loss of power in most homes in the refugee camp.

At exactly 10am an undercover Israeli military unit was exposed in #Tulkarem . A large military force rushed into the city, bulldozers were quick to follow and to start destroying infrastructure in #Tulkarem_RC . A military helicopter has been circling above both refugee camps.

Tulkarem to Ramallah used to take a little over 1hr, though #Anabta #Huwwara . For 6months, even prior to Oct 7, the trip often takes hrs more. Over the last 14 weeks an important road between #Sarra & #Huwwara has been permanently closed. This alone adds 1hr average 2the journey.

Israel directly targeted a group of journalists in Tal Al-Zatar area, #Jabalia . One of the journalists said that it was a lucky escape 4them; 1 journalist was injured, 1 civilian killed. They were in the area for phone signal; making important calls, & to continue their coverage.

Montaser Al Sawaf was killed along with family members after an earlier attempt injured him and killed 48 of his family, his father Mustafa, who is also a prominent journalist. Momen Al-Sharafi lost 22 members of his family, including his parents, retired teachers, in one strike.

- Local militants use light arms, IEDs and knowledge of the area to fight back against bulldozers and heavily fortified vehicles - The soldiers rarely step out and mostly act as protection for slow moving bulldozers which destroy infrastructure and "open" paths deep inside the RC

On Jan 7, the Israeli army targeted a car carrying Palestinian journalists near Khan Younis, killing Al Jazeera crew members Hamza Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuraya, along with their driver. Two freelance journalists were also seriously wounded. The killing received some MSM coverage.
