Since BrewDog announced leaving the real living wage two weeks ago, @FairHospitality have been inundated with testimonies from members about the impact of this, and how the company has treated workers organising to collectively challenge the decision. Here is what they said.

In SPCM EP 3.1, we spent the better part of an hour discussing BrewDog’s pay-to-play methods with the press and analysed some data. Given James Watt is so keen on sharing & highlighting this good news, here’s the owner of every outlet he’s presented in this picture. THREAD🧵1

Following on from our take on #Collabfest2021 etc yesterday, we'd like to make some brief points on the Telegraph's recent interview with James. We won't go into detail - perhaps we'll save that for another day - but we didn't want to let it slide. 1/5

We'll turn our first-hand experience of toxic workplaces into constructive action. By promoting positive change when we see genuine desire to be better, yet acting quickly to expose lies and hypocrisy when they arise, we aim to stamp out the environments we suffered under. 3/5

This is not only a breach of trust, but also makes us question the independent nature of Wiser’s review at all. They made a promise not just to us, but to all participants that their anonymity would be upheld. This has been proven to have been broken. (2/10)

James’ update claims every employee who left in the last twelve months has been contacted. This is not true. Time would be better spent fact-checking and following up on these important points, than penning a triumphant return to social media, just to double down on ad campaigns.

This real-terms pay cut for hard-working front line staff is directly opposed to BrewDog’s previous claim that “our crew are our most important resource - and giving them fair pay for the work they do is one of our core beliefs.”

Despite endlessly preaching positivity on his platforms, Bartlett shows no sign of allowing us the chance to respond to these damaging claims. Disappointingly, he has chosen to instead protect his peer - a powerful millionaire CEO with a large following on social media.

ICYMI: see the link below for an important (and disheartening) development in the attempts by @handandheart_eu to reach reconciliation and further dialogue with @BrewDog .

Firstly, BrewDog's @BCorporation certification is now under review, following the letter we published four months ago. Shown is part of B Lab's response to the issues revealed by the letter. B Corp's full transparency report can be found here: 2/8

We recognise there have been steps taken by BrewDog to address some of the points raised in the letter. Likewise we appreciate their published steps to improve the working conditions of current employees. This was and remains to this day our sole motivation. (2/4)
