SHOCKING: Public Eye Online reports that the hearse transporting the body of a 6-year-old Siloe Primary School student to his home, who was killed by a car on September 22nd has been involved in an accident at Bolata village today. His coffin is reported to have broken down.

Labour & Employment Minister, Richard Ramoeletsi on Monday informed the National Assembly that: He has increased the minimum wage across all sectors by 6.6%. Workers had initially requested 20%, with employers offering 5%. #Lesotho minimum wage will now be LSL2005 ($110.22).

There are tainted South African bank notes circulating in #Lesotho ; If you suspect you are carrying one, you can visit any of the four banks in Lesotho to have it verified. Once it's detected that it's tainted, the bank will keep it & you leave empty handed.

Lesotho faced so many challenges this year, at one point we had money (South African rands) but we could not use them. For two months, we were the only country without KFC in Southern Africa if not whole of Africa. Today, people have salaries but can't access them. Rough year!

Telecommunications giant, Vodacom Lesotho through its financial service, M-Pesa will from today make interest payments to its customers. The payments are "customers share of interest accumulated over the period January to December 2022." This is the second year this happens.

The National Assembly of Lesotho today tabled a subordinate law that introduces a levy of ninety lisente on a plastic shopping bag. Revenue Services Lesotho shall deposit the said levy into the Environment Fund, which will be used to clean the environment & related issues.

Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority (LEWA) has rejected Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO)'s request to increase water charges by 14%. In a harsh statement, LEWA indicated that WASCO "requests increase in tarrifs yet its services have been deteriorating over the years."

It is a triple graduations celebration in the Mountain Kingdom today. National University of Lesotho will cap postgraduates in Doctoral, Master's & Postgraduate Diplomas, Lerotholi Polytechnic will also honour it's 2023 Class. IDM Lesotho is celebrating in Botswana.

TOP OF THE MORNING: Suspects into the murder of the late radio presenter, #RalikoneloJoki were arrested in the early hours of today at Maseru Border Gate. They were coming to Lesotho, this was confirmed by police spokesman, Senior Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli.

Prime Minister Sam Matekane will next week take his first outside of Africa trip as Lesotho PM: He will from 13th-15th Dec take part at the U.S-Africa Leaders Summit. "President Joe Biden will be hosting leaders from Africa to deliberate on a range of developmental issues."

Lesotho Mounted Police Service reports that a young 4-year-old boy who was reported to have gone missing, while at boarding school in Botha-Bothe few weeks ago has been found, dead inside a pit latrine at his school. May his soul rest in peace.

When he took over as #Lesotho 's Prime Minister in October 2022, Sam Matekane reduced cabinet size from 37 to 15. In his progress report, Matekane says this has saved government a total of LSL108 Million per year.
