Older than the more famous New York City version having been built in 1885 (I think) whereas the NYC version was not officially dedicated until 1886 having been fabricated in France and shipped across the Atlantic.

Why are the tenements in Glasgow different colours?
Blonde coloured sandstone was quarried around Glasgow up to around 1890 with red sandstone coming from further afield (Dumfriesshire) once the rail network was in place to transport it.
Can you identify the locations?

I know I post a lot of the rock /

but it is almost literally on my doorstep.
This was taken about two weeks ago, before the summer ended.
I know Iβm biased but I think this is one of the best locations for a football ground in Scotland.

Iβd never noticed before but either side (east and west) of Queen Street Station there are these sections where the lower level tracks are briefly exposed.
This is the east section in front of the famous

Looking across Dumbarton Castle towards the Clyde as The Waverley passed, this morning.
The building in the foreground is the French Prison, built in around 1790 to house prisoners seized during the Napoleonic Wars.
The Highland Boundry Fault at Loch Lomond marks the line between the Scottish Lowlands (left) and highlands (right of centre).
Conic Hill in the foreground and the path you can see is part of the West Highland Way. πββοΈ
