This is something I tell "newbies" over and over. Building your networks starts from your *peers*. Not you brown nosing from the bottom up 🤓 works for some people, but self respect is hard enough to hold on as it is .

Ethnic diversity amongst puppeteers is often forgotten about and is in MUCH need of a bit more colour. Really glad to see @LittleATheatre offering 5 bursaries to their foundations course to try and address this. Also the brill @oliverhymans is teaching!

Unless you're "discovered" and thrust into the spotlight, for most of us it takes longer to get a foot in. When you are trying to stay above the bread line doing a profit-share aka unpaid gig isn't the romantic artist life. Poverty is shit.

What does a British passport mean? I made @DUALshow_ because of a similar experience. Aged 10 and stuck in Iran I realised my "Britishness" was different , and that my passport was not my protection. #FreeNazanin This has gone on for too long with empty words and no action

Feeling very disheartened by this industry. There’s no support for artists after the early career stage, all the money is put into schemes for new playwrights then there’s no net to catch you on the other side. 12yrs of tories has made it worse & don’t get me started on access -

Just had a home Covid-19 test ahead of a costume fitting next week and honestly, having a cotton bud twiddled up my nose is the most exciting thing that's happened to me in months.

Art literally gave me a voice. I don't talk about this much but when I was little I was selective mute (and often being reprimanded as for being difficult/rude,labelled as painfully shy).For lots of reasons I won't get into,I was an incredibly anxious child. (Still anxious adult)

Monday musing: I've only ever seen very lean body types play androids. Assuming because of something around "functionality" ,but surely there could be some design features to more roly poly wobbly shapes too? Putting this out there so that someone else can write this show thanks
