My fantastic, darling Mum passed away in the early hours of this morning from cancer. She was the sweetest, most generous person ever. Helped me in every way possible. Right up until the end she was worried that we weren't eating or sleeping enough. Will love her forever. RIP.

Remembering the story about good old Kenneth MacDonald who once had a job working in a Cereal Factory & used to put 4 or 5 toys in a box instead of one, thinking children would be pleased opening them at breakfast. Then got the sack for using up a month's worth of toys in a week.

Carry On Screaming must've been quite strange for cinema audiences at the time due to the lack of regulars in it, of the established cast you only had Kenneth Williams, Joan Sims, Jim Dale & Charles Hawtrey, & Hawtrey's hardly in it. This is the sort of thing I think about.

ITV3 once again ruined the great Carry Ons by cutting them to shreds. I've got them on DVD but it's great to see them on TV, but not when half the film's missing. Particularly annoys me that scenes are cut to try & appease people who aren't gonna watch anyway. Stick to the DVDs.

In times like this, the Carry On films should be shown on TV again, get everyone laughing. And not on ITV3 either, cos they'll still cut half the best lines and scenes. If you're lucky enough to own the lot on DVD, as I do (thrice over), pop one on. Carry On films rule.

26 years ago today we lost the brilliant Kenneth Connor (1918-1993). One of my favourite comedy actors, a Carry On legend (he appeared in 17 of them), plus he's in brilliant films What a Carve Up, The Ladykillers, Weekend With Lulu and the Dentist films. Comedy legend.

You know Carry On films? I Bloody loves them ya see. I don't watch them so much now as I used to, what with all the gems I've bought on DVD and that show on Talking Pictures TV. But Carry Ons are awesome and should be watched by one and all. Carry Ons Rule.

Well I quite enjoyed that. Great to see unseen interviews of Joan Sims and Jim Dale, and new contributions from Hugh Futcher and Valerie Leon. Plus some previously unseen photos. Apart from the humorless Wench (who's on all these things) whining, it was an interesting programme.

Having a Brew and Watching the phenomenal 1988 version of Jack The Ripper. If you're lucky one day I might do a thread about why this is one of the best pieces of television ever made, if you're lucky.

No 4. Bless This House. The rare example of the film surpassing the series. It's kinda Bless This House meets Terry and June. It's also got Peter Butterworth, Robin Askwith, Bill Maynard and Carol Hawkins. A joyful little movie that'll always cheer you up. I won't leave it!!!!

As I've been rewatching some of my favourite sitcoms it struck me how the younger stars in them were first to die. Richard Beckinsale in Porridge, and Rising Damp, James Beck in Dad's Army (okay, I know Ian Lavender was younger) & Harry H Corbett going before the"Dirty old man".

Nine years ago today we lost the great Norman Wisdom. One of my all-time favourites, love all his films, particularly Up In The World, One Good Turn, The Early Bird, Man of the Moment and Just My Luck. Comedy legend. RIP.

Just watched Carry On Behind, unbelievably it's 6 years since I'd seen it fully. Considering the previous film had seen the departure of so many team members, and especially writer Talbot Rothwell, this is a great film. With excellent performances, particularly Peter Butterworth.

Sad to hear the great Leslie Phillip has died. He was in four Carry On films, three Doctor films, a Norman Wisdom, plus other gems Please Turn Over and Crooks Anonymous. Seemed like he was gonna go on forever. Ding Dong. RIP.

After watching Carry On Henry, just reading up on Marjie Lawrence who plays the comely serving Wench in it. Only just discovered she was the mother of presenter Sarah Greene, and she was also the first person to speak on ITV. I like nice bits of trivia like this.

The fact James Beck (Walker) was first to pop off out of the Dad's Army cast still seems hard to believe after all these years.

Sad to hear we've lost the great Diana Rigg. Yes she was in Avengers, and some other good things particularly Evil Under The Sun. But I'll always remember her for Theatre of Blood, one of the best horror films ever, where she played Vincent Price's crazed daughter. RIP.

Watching Carry On England now. Doubt this would make anyone's Top 5. Or even Top 25, but I do like it. Not seen it properly for about eight years. This is one that I remember watching fairly often when younger, was one of the first I'd recorded on VHS.

Time for a bit of Porridge. It's the first episode and that classic scene Dr : You see those flasks over there I want you to fill one for me. Fletcher : What from here? Must've seen that bit 38,549 times, but it still cracks me up.

My thread on Hattie's Matron's being the same in all 4 medical Carry Ons (and Camping) begins. Matron starts off in Nurse at Haven Hospital, she's given no other name here other than Matron. At this stage she's the serious, bossy Matron we know well, but is purely work motivated.

Here it is, the thread that no-one wanted. It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. One of my favourite films ever, and one I've seen countless times. Fantastic main cast, great supporting cast. And dozens of cameos. Unfollow while you can.
