I am horrified by the CDC's decision to loosen their mask restrictions. Many of the parishioners at my Jesuit faith community are traumatized at the sight of any maskless person. But rest assured, my Jesuit faith community will require masks forever and ever, amen.

I decided to take a Covid test to show how merciful I am, and to my horror, I tested positive. I have no symptoms, and thankfully, I am fully vaccinated. I am trying not to panic. As a result, all clown masses will be canceled for the next 3 weeks.

I had someone ask me if it was licit to attend a Latin Mass. I don't pay much attention to canon law, but I do know that there is a strong temptation to become rigid and accept outdated doctrines if you attend the unreformed mass, so for the sake of your modern soul, avoid it.

The "March for Life" is misguided. If they were concerned about "pro-life", they would march in support of LGBTs, preferred pronouns, vaccine mandates, the climate, and the Chinese patriotic church. To us Jesuits, "pro-life" means pro- government programs sponsored by Democrats.

I just booked a pilgrimage to Rome (specifically to visit St. Peter's Basilica) in May! Several of my LGBT friends are also coming, and we will see if one of the fabulous Cardinals will give the couples a "spontaneous blessing". ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sometimes we need to step away from practicing the Catholic faith. Many of my fellow Jesuits have done this for decades. It helps us to understand that the church doesn't have all the answers, and WE become church by our active participation.
