PSJA ISD Board unanimously approved a resolution mandating the use of face masks in schools.
They also authorized legal counsel to file suit against Governor Abbott & State to prohibit the enforcement of his Executive Order that does not allow districts to mandate masks.
In a heartfelt & unanimous decision the PSJA ISD Board of Trustees voted to rename Alamo Middle School to “Jesus “Jesse” Vela Middle School,” celebrating a lifetime of dedication & service Mr. Vela has bestowed upon the district & the community

Today, Governor Abbott signed a new executive order regarding COVID-19 protocols. As a school system, under SY20-21 Public Health Planning Guidance issued by TEA, PSJA ISD will continue to require face mask coverings to ensure the health & safety of all students and staff.

Our School Board of Trustees named Dr. Jorge Luis Arredondo, as the “Lone Finalist” for the PSJA ISD Superintendent position. Dr. Arredondo has served as Assistant Supt., Area Supt. & School Support Officer in Houston ISD.
