An awesome thing about $BAND is that it's much more capable than the current use case, which is feeding prices for DeFi. Next cycle will bring much more diverse applications to the blockchains. Bear markets suck, but once we're through then that's where the innovations shine.

7/ I dare say that the level of global financial literacy rose sharply with the invention of crypto. You previously needed college degree to understand how economic works just a while ago. Now everyone who dives into crypto is fluent in concept of monetary supply, scarcity, etc.

It has been historically expensive to relay data, but that's how we treat security: you cannot compromise on the integrity of the oracle. Now with a new primitive we're able to push for 100x relay cost reduction. No timeline promised. It's under testing and will soon be audit.

12/12 In summary, I'm extremely bullish on the future of crypto. The next 2-3 years will be a real turning point in both adoption and tech. Many hypotheses will be tested. $BAND will play an important part at that very moment, most likely w/ more products. Back to building. 👨‍💻

14/ At the end of the day crypto wasn't made of Wall St. It started from group of crazy people who trust in the spirit of internet-native values, even when all the odds are against such extreme ideology. It's not like we never experienced push back; we thrive in such condition.

1/ TL;DR Someone should build NPM clone where all packages require security audit before releasing the code, and it should be the norm that all frontends in crypto use it. Maybe even pay for it (in the same way dApps pay to audit contracts, but at scale). Why such extreme?👇🧵

8/ Third aha moment was probably when I experienced DeFi: - Compound - Uniswap - Curve - etc. During 2017 ICO craze, there was a bunch of crazy ideas floating around of what crypto could become. 99% of the ideas were pipe dreams. DeFi emerged from that era as potential winner.

11/ Speculation alone didn't kill DeFi. Market corrections were actually normal thing that come with economy (check out @RayDalio 's magnificent explanation on how market cycles work). It was greeds and lies that brought down some of the most respected personalities in the space.

3/ For me, the first magic moment came when I converted my life-saving ($2-$3k back then) to $BTC. It broke me free from the absolute reliance on traditional banks, especially as a student/nomad in a foreign country. That was such a liberating moment.

🐻 Bear market can be brutal for a lot of builders: - It's hard to fundraise - Team's morale fluctuates by market condition - Not clear what'd be the next "DeFi" of upcoming bull-run Don't feel discouraged. Your goal is to win over 5-10 year span. Bear is part of the process.

5/ The possiblity of sending money to anyone via email with the interoperable layer on top of fully decentralized network may not be exciting now. Let me remind myself this: we've come a long way from pre-2009 era where every financial transactions had to happen through banks.

6/ Even though we haven't progressed much on that front from 7 years ago, crypto is now in a much more ready state for ANYONE to use. Even many middle school kids in 🇹🇭 now have @binance accounts. Would you believe it? 🤯 I wouldn't have imagined this'd be possible 7 years ago.

10/ Then 2020-2021 happened. There came extreme speculations and culture of "degens", which kinda ruined the beauty of this brand new financial primitives and poised them with risks way beyond the ones we've faced in traditional markets. But DeFi wasn't in the wrong here.

4/ The second moment came after receiving crypto *via email* through Coinbase in 2015. Why? Back then I already understood the "your key your coin" mantra, along with realization that crypto wasn't ready for mass adoption without good abstractions on top.
