Honest question: Why do you need to “see yourself” in a character? What does it mean to “see yourself” in a character & why is it so important that you do? If it’s to feel good about yourself, why don’t you feel good about yourself? Why do you need entertainment to do that?

Women can be absolutely VICIOUS toward each other. I’ve never seen men treat other men with the same level of SPITE that I see between women. I think it’s like men have this mechanism that says “This fight ain’t worth the mental energy investment” which holds them back, maybe.

These people assume that in order for a cartoon to be "adult" it needs to have tons of swearing, sexual content, be politically charged, & be meta. Ironically, this is very CHILDISH. An adult cartoon just needs to handle mature themes and topics.
