"But Cait doesn't look sad" Ya'll, not to get personal, but some ppl repress and compartmentalize during times of heightened stress. For those of us who have emotions that go "in" not "out" the presumption that grief has to look "one way" for it to be real is hurtful & harmful.

HC that Vi discovers Caitlyn is prone to horrendous headaches by one day finding her curled up in the bathroom, lights off, temple pressed to the cool tile floor. Vi brings her water, crackers and medicine, then sits quietly with her until she's well enough to be carried to bed.

Cait has never been "the damsel in distress." Thus far, she has only been the rescuer. If anyone fits the archetype of "the damsel," it's Vi. Even then, I feel this trope can't be comfortably applied to a narrative with such minimal gender bias, even less in a wlw pairing. 1/n
