OUTAGE UPDATE: The cause of the outage was an upstream broken @HydroOne pole in Amaranth. When the pole broke, it opened the switch causing all downstream customers to lose power. Orangeville Hydro customers should be restored by 10:35PM.

Found one! The quick outage (or two) at 4:09PM was likely caused by this large fallen branch on Faulkner Street. On it’s way to the ground, it made contact with the 27,600 Volt conductors. Now it’s just hanging out on the low voltage wires.

The Government of Ontario ( @ONenergy ) is providing temporary 45-day emergency relief to support Ontarians. As of Tuesday, March 24, 2020, households and small businesses who pay time-of-use electricity rates will be charged off-peak rates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Wow...these are strong winds. A couple of our feeders experienced short/momentary outages for a few seconds atd 3:40PM. Lines staff will be patrolling the main sections of the feeders while there is still daylight to search for the cause.
