Today has been an amazing final day to our summer school! Pupils took on the role of different types of musicians, experiencing Indian Dohl Drumming, Caribbean Steal Pans, Junk Percussion. They played in a rock band and used our Boomwhackers! We've even had our Ice Cream Man in!

Today, students went back in time to try and scupper the gunpowder plot, and learned about the science of gunpowder & fireworks by making sparklers. They witnessed the story of Macbeth & took the part of a juror to decide whether Macbeth could be innocent in a Mock court trial!

We just wanted to say a huge well done to Megan who has won the Rotary Club National Award and the Rotary Young Citizen Award and is being filmed by the BBC! Megan has raised over £38,000 for charities as well as delivering over 1,500 food parcels during lockdowns!

Day 3 of summer school at Ossett Academy and it has been another fun packed day. Students experienced a day in space where they learned about forces to launch rockets, stepped inside our very own planetarium, and worked for NASA coding a Mars Rover!
