We can see how food deprivation marked her body and psyche her entire life, potentially playing a role in the cancer that killed her at age 63. And these are the conditions children (and adults) in Gaza have faced for weeks now. Starvation is a tool of genocide.

In these painful videos, rescuers and neighbors are always weary and also freshly pained. I feel westerners do not know, in their marrow, that there’s no way to get familiar with these assaults. That the catastrophe is a new disaster, each time, thousands of times now in Gaza.

10) #joepenney also said the “POLICE and a MENTAL INSTITUTION” should know that I’m “dangerous.” Think about what it means for him, who never correctly paired his Nikes w/ his socks a day in his life, to say this to a Black Muslim immigrant woman. I have rarely felt so unsafe.
