@CanadianPolling I also feel like many people here are assuming social democracy as socialism. If Sanders were to become President in the US, despite being a self-described socialist, economically, he is still allowing capitalism to remain.

For 338, if the LPC lose a few more seats to the CPC or BQ, we can get a LPC-NDP-GPC government. And what makes this huge is the fact the GPC will not enter any agreement unless PR is passed

Something to really show how bad FPTP can be is in BC, under the right conditions, the Greens could form the Official Opposition at 3 seats while being behind BCU and BC CON in terms of popular vote. With BCU at risk of wipeout. It shows that FPTP is just as deadly to the Right.

"I enjoyed spending time with him, to be honest. I'm obviously a Conservative, he's obviously a New Democrat, but that doesnโ€™t mean we can't share priorities and have good conversations together," Pierre Poilievre says after his meeting with Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew. #cdnpoli

@CanadianPolling I would want the NDP to vote in favour of taking down Trudeau. And they should since the possibility of Pharamacare not being in the budget is fairly high which would just break the rules of the agreement. It also would make Singh be a strong leader.

I don't want an NDP in 2nd because that just let's Singh get another shot. Maybe if the CPC flips his seat, sure.

@CanadianPolling At this point, the CPC is better off splitting back to the PCs and Reform/Alliance while also pushing for proportional representation.

If King wins every seat in PEI, that is more justification for PR as one-party systems are bad. Effectively there could be no question period because there is no opposition MP available.

Right now Singh can demand much more and cite the current state of things as the reason. If Trudeau refuses, call an election. In that scenario, Singh has nothing to lose. Like if the Libs really want 3rd place status, so be it.

@CanadianPolling But provincially, a lot of that support is NDP which only makes the Mainstreet poll more questionable since surely the provincial wing would give some kind of federal support.

@monsturmun @veganlovebunny @MaritStiles The NDP is also complicit as they greenlight the awful CDB instead of threatening to take down the budget if it wasn't sufficient. Not to mention Eby or Kinew have yet to raise disability rates.

The NDP could threaten to call in election if the LPC does not bring back social housing, but won't. Technically violates the agreement, but does the LPC really want an election because they refused to support a housing plan? Would be a speedrun 3rd.
