Hot take? I really really REALLY like DBD. Like, ALL, of DBD. Playing every killer, and going against every killer. Yes, even going against skull merchant. Even when I get camped, tunneled, or slugged, or can’t find the last two survivors at 4 gens. I love this game. W GAME.

After seeing the new game mode, on top of legitimate complaints about camping, tunneling, slugging, and omega stealthy survivors, I think it would be a great idea to create a chase based game mode! Either a 1v1 ladder, or a free for all to see who can last the longest!

If you play the event for 5-8 hours every day, you can 0-100 prestige an entire character before the event ends! As long as there are 3-5 cakes per game. That’s crazy awesome!

I just went against my first “new” Onryo and it was one of the funnest matches I’ve had. Super easy to counter, and also super sad seeing my team die before my eyes- they never touched a tape, even when I pointed at the tvs when they were high condemn. Video how to counter soon!

Goldilocks and the 3 Updates. Onryo 3.0 is the best iteration we've had. Onryo 1.0 (OG) was too hard to build condemn, leading to drawn out matches. 1.0 also had tapes give passive condemn over time, which made countering her power a bit risky and thus counter-intuitive. (1/?)

While I have personal likes and dislikes with the changes, they all serve to create healthy gameplay balance. The main imbalance is that a TP can’t build condemn on survivors with tapes, turning her “threatening” cursed tapes into a shield that actually protects against condemn.

@OtzdarvaYT You shouldn’t feel guilty for wanting to give up early or go next, but there should be a price for that as your actions affect multiple others. @DeadbyDaylight please consider raising the penalty again, or adding a ranked mode with a higher penalty.

@ScottJund The counter is to pick up a tape when the tvs turn on and utilize classic anti-m1 looping. Also I believe this change to be healthier as it’s less optimal now to slug, meaning survivor uptime in my games has been higher than in hooking games.

A couple years ago hatch stand off was removed. Tomorrow, the hook grab stand off will be removed. The only “stand off” that’s left is when people hop in lockers to avoid Mikey mori. Tomorrow, people will be able to hop in lockers to avoid condemn. This is a horrible interaction

I would like to make the argument that old iri tape would be healthier than the current one, as it not only rewards hits, but also doesn't purely waste survivors time as the current one does. Also resetting tv's gives the potential for survivors to find more tapes to shield with.

Since both sides want to have fun, and win on top of it, it would make a lot of sense to create a game mode where the main objective is centered about the best aspect of dbd- the chases. Maybe even a teamwork oriented chase mode where hit taking and flashlights are encouraged!

Holy hell. The Alien PTB was so good. Fun power to use, and even more fun to play against with flamethrowers 🔥. The map is just as beautiful as The Xenomorph. Only thing I would address is the M2 animation doesn’t sync with the hit box- and the chase music. 9/10 chapter. 👽

One simple change that would make new Onryo fair on release, would be to allow tapes to build condemn over time while doing a conspicuous action (repairing/healing/cleansing) @DeadbyDaylight Also her strongest addons are still strong, and the weak ones are still weak.

Have you tried playing with made for this and hope? That combo is extremely fun, and is definitely not balanced. Or any of Nic Cages perks? You can down yourself, make yourself exposed, and make yourself scream. Complaining that a game is too balanced is the strangest take.

Scamper on pallets is balanced. Stuns knock Chucky out of hidey-Ho mode so he can’t scamper. If you have plenty of distance, you can predrop a pallet and position yourself on the opposite side of a loop to avoid a scamper.

With 1.0 Onryo, survivors quickly learned that due to her low condemn output, the risk of picking up a tape was not worth, and most matches they would not want to interact with tapes at all, creating a sense of boredom, as interacting with the killer is where a large portion (2)

of "dbd fun" comes from. Onryo 2.0 however (live Onryo) can build way too much condemn given her map wide effect. 2.0 also requires less decision making due to map wide condemn, which took a lot of fun away from Onryo enjoyers. With 2.0, holding a tape shields you from TP (3)

To summarize: OG Onryo built LOW condemn, and tapes had HIGH risk (long matches with little interaction and confusing counter). Current Onryo builds HIGH condemn, and tapes have MEDIUM risk (too strong, tp on cd bot, extreme hit and run, no fun for both sides, still risky (8)

There are healthy locker interactions for example dodging a blight dash, chainsaw, doc blast, etc. These are all burst abilities that the survivor wants to avoid briefly but will want to hop back to avoid a free down. You need to look at what the killer wants.

everything is much clearer in terms of her counter. If you are near an online tv, when she teleports, you will gain condemn. To prevent you can turn off the tv by picking up a tape. The nice thing with 3.0 tapes, is that there is virtually no downside or risk. You don't build (5)

@CaptainTripps4 Perks don’t dictate your in game skill. The worst and best players could both put on the exact same perks and perform very differently. Just because someone wants gens to be slowed down, or wants to see people’s auras, doesn’t mean they are ass.
