: OCARINA OF TIME: 25th ANNIVERSARY
[SOUND ON]
LINK, the Hero of Time, playing a nostalgic tune...
Join us and Curiomatic for a retrospective into his design, and how we brought him to life!🔻
Turn-around shots of Link. There's still some aspects of the model that I want to fix, but thought this would complement the post where I showed his sculpt!

It's

's 23rd anniversary! Not only that, it's the first anniversary of this project, and I'm thankful you've all been along for the ride.
Up until now, you've seen Link in his bind pose. But I'm announcing here that his rig has made great progress. Take a look:
Let's all wish Ocarina of Time a 25th birthday! Wow, a quarter-century... To celebrate, stay tuned for a video at 12:00EST that showcases the creation behind this project's Link! We hope you enjoy it.
We’ve shown Link in engine before, but here he is with some lighting modifications to match the renders I made before. This is real time lighting!

The people have spoken, they desire previews. Here's a window into a model I've started! With
#zelda
's royal armor, I tried to keep the overall shapes the same while adding some elaborations within those shapes.
Here is a custom Link design! This version of Link plays a flute that serves as a magical key, its songs unlocking mysterious paths in Link's journey.

This is all hypothetical, of course.
CONSIDERING 3D MODEL COMMISSIONS!
The rates would be:
-$50-100USD for items/weapons
-$500-700USD for custom character models
The range depends on the complexity of the model. Send me a DM if you are interested and I will let you know if I can take it.

The slight changes continue to add up! At least, I hope they do. This time, I reduced his gauntlet size by about 6%. I included a comparison before the changes just for reference.
Once again testing out some more changes, this time it's a smaller waist and slightly bigger tunic.
I suppose this makes his proportions slightly more like the 3ds version, but I'm curious what the reception is. Certainly, the old one is on the table as well as this one.
Originally, I had the back of her head blank like OoT's concept art, but recently added jewelry to hold it in a similar way to Twilight Princess' Zelda.
I still need to make the hair that's pulled back more convincingly taut, but if you don't look too closely it works for now.
As an adult, I imagine Link might feel a bit aimless, not having a home to return to after no longer fitting in with the Kokiri.

This place might be the next best thing!
While my general sensibility is to keep the models clean to keep them feeling whimsical, making versions with dirt makes a lot of sense a times. In model releases, I would include both. Here's Malon actually putting the farm work in, based on some feedback:
The ReDead's mask texture utilizes the same texture source as its original artwork! It was translated into a modern 3D material using Substance Alchemist.
In early versions of Ocarina of Time, Epona's color scheme was similar to the final, but is missing things like her white mane and presumably tail. Most notably of all, she hadn't been fitted with her ornate saddle yet.

's masterful rendition of a temple we all know and love. The temple's modular design made it easy to put care and attention into every little detail; check out the Triforce tracery!
More Link updates. This time, I made his shoulder sleeves more flared out and straight, with the folds more emphasized. I also added stronger folds elsewhere on the tunic.
