Almost nearly forgot. Today it finally happened. Daughter & I were at Target wearing our respirators as we passed by an older couple. Suddenly, we hear the woman say, "Hey, why are you both wearing masks?!" I turn around & she's looking at us both.

She wasn't masked but she said that she'd also managed to dodge COVID so far but also that she was wondering if "these new variants" were going to be when it finally gets them both. She was really sweet & supportive, earnestly concerned for my good health. It was nice.

So, daughter's workplace is a clusterf*ck today. 10 employees scheduled. 7 called in sick. Manager is 60 years old & apparently terrified of getting sick again. In fact, so much so that he's closed the restaurant off from indoor dining. The sign? Also a panicked mess.

Just a fyi: COVID is definitely going around. Shopping delivery tonight of spaghetti sauce fixings...and 5 oz bottle of tabasco. Sure enough, we received a message from the customer--she has COVID, telling us to leave it at her door as she doesn't want us to get sick.

9/10 times the home that is advising me that COVID is in their home is a low income household. To put it into context, this person spent about $18 on groceries & probably $15 in delivery fees to avoid infecting others. It's tragic & it's always like that.

My brutal reality is being keenly aware that my dad & his gf are clearly never going to be immune & w heavily sarcastic & hostile "thanks to @CNN , they have themselves convinced that it'll keep being mild & that they're immune because that's all CNN says all day long on their tv

I just realized that my MRI is on Saturday & that means I'm going to have to figure out something for a mask during the procedure as my current masks have a nose wire. Oyyyyy.

@FreckleFart01 @heebinim @MommaUnfiltered You know that you've written a fantastic song when others can instinctively join in. It's perfect.

@BNODesk It's going to get higher and then, they'll run out of tests. Have a friend processing COVID tests in Delaware. Nearly all that she processed today were positive.

Gross. Scowling when she refused to comply to your inappropriate request? Also manipulative & gross. My daughter was your cashier--not your opportunity to view a pretty human being you manipulative disgusting twat. She told you no & why & that was your response.

@jennysrmve71 Yep, that was her 1st thought, too, & why she was glad to be the one to do it as I taught her everything I knew about biosafety starting in Jan 2020. She used it all today & luckily, they had additional protective gear for her to use. Let her home early w pay so she could shower.

@verygoodchat I hope so, too. She was keenly aware that her good times were potentially coming to an end & running into us, hearing that we'd dodged despite my health conditions by wearing a respirator, hopefully inspired her. She's too nice to get messed up by this.
