The shitty thing about podcasting right now is that there are SO. MANY. GOOD. IDEAS. from SO. MANY. INTERESTING. PEOPLE. and SO. LITTLE. MONEY. to make them.
Whoever created the idea of "always on" podcasts clearly never made one. B/c unless you have $$$ like NYT or are a zero-production celeb chat circle jerk, it's almost impossible to do. Plus so many good audio stories are being left on the table in wake of the always-on hegemony.

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree: Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea.
If you’ve never made a podcast before that needed to make money in order to survive (cuz like, it was your job) you have no idea how hard that is. It’s brutal. Sending love today to all my NPR podcast friends who shows have just been canceled. I know exactly what that’s like.
This is going to be a tough week at NPR, as many people will lose their positions due to budget cuts. Before that happens, why not let your fave radio folks know how you feel about them? Most people have social media links in their bios.
Devastated to learn that my friend & hero Judy Heumann has died. Judy was an absolute warrior. Her tireless work for disability rights made the world better for everyone. Plus, she was funny as hell & as kind as they come. A true one-of-a-kind treasure. Rest in power, friend.

Massive police emergency/tactical response presence in Eckington. Maybe 50 police/fire vehicles. Plus an armored swat truck on the Met Branch Trail.
It's not everyday that you get to sit onstage and interview a woman who could bodyslam you into next week!

's Becky Lynch in D.C. March 28, talking with me about her new book & maybe hitting me with a folding chair. Get tix here:
Raising a glass to all the hands that made Invisibilia. All the creative thoughtful souls who tried for her and cried for her and hopefully - helped some people along the way.
This is a joke, right? NPR gets no direct federal funding and the competitive grants it gets from publicly funded CPB amount to ~2% of its budget. Hardly state-affiliated.
What if the Snyders sold the Washington Commanders to the residents of the District of Columbia and it was run like worker-owned cooperative? I mean, we need something if we’re not going to have proper Congressional representation, statehood or real home rule.
Welcome back to the US Senate Senator Fetterman!
Today John Fetterman returned to the US Senate after taking a leave of absence due to clinical depression.
17.3 million Americans (over 7% of our population) suffer from Depressions. This man should be viewed as the role model
