For the first time, I'm scared for the future of our farm. Not because we have millions of dollars of crop left out. We'll get that and it will sort itself out. This Liberal government is going to cripple western Canada, small business, and agriculture in general.
If Trudeau loses this election because of a poor costume choice 20yrs ago, and not because he's an inept, unethical leader, then I think we need to be more worried about the future of our country, and society in general
Drought is tough.
Floods are tough.
Farming is tough.
If social media riles you up because someone has it better, or worse, maybe it's time to shut off Twitter and see someone professionally.
I said I wouldn't panic until June.
It's May 29th, and has rained another 2.5 in the last 36hours, and no signs of slowing.
I'm not panicking yet. But if you'll excuse me, I have 2 days to start preparing to panic.

Why is running equipment 24 hours a day so uncommon in production Ag?
One $350k tractor (work day & night) at 1,000 hrs a year or 2 $350k tractors (Work just day) at 500 hours a year.
Variable costs are the same.
Fixed cost is doubled.
Want to cut costs, start with equipment.
Blew a tire on my way for oats. Pulled in at Roblin tire. Skinny kid who graduated HS this week had me in 2 new tires in half an hour.
