Guess you can cheese like this when you run the 2nd fastest time in school history. 3:51.29 puts Ty Banks third in the NAIA currently. Lots left in the tank, sub 3:50 on deck!
Ty Banks finishes his ONU running career with his first Outdoor All-American award! Ends his career standing on the podium. 7th place in a super tactical race. Now he is on to a bigger challenge: Med School.

1:53.42 - new 800m indoor school record!
Ty Banks finishes third in the mile!! Great race and left it all on the track. He showed lots of guts in that last 600m when the race really got moving.

Ty Banks cruises through his prelim of the mile in 4:19 to move onto finals. Nothing like championship racing going out in 2:16 for the first 800m. His final will be Saturday at 11:30am.
Starting this week, we are now officially in Track & Field season. First meet is Friday @ GVSU, followed up by a home meet Saturday. Busy weekend, but we are excited to showcase all of the hard work put in this fall!

Ty Banks moves onto finals in the 1500m! Took the lead with 400m to go in his prelim and didn’t look back. Shut it down with 50 meters to go and finished top 4 to automatically advance! Onto Friday afternoon.
Last week, we ran a 4x8 and did not qualify. We pulled our two fastest guys off that relay so they could run other events. These four men asked if they could have another shot this week & they crushed it.
3 freshmen and a senior just hit the national qualifying mark! 🤯🤯
Both Women’s and Men’s team qualify for Cross Country National Championship!!!
This comes after a stellar CCAC Championship which saw us bring in 10 x CCAC All-Conference awards & women’s Freshman of the year!
We’ll see you all in Vancouver, WA next week!!
Go Tigers!
14 minutes into the new Track and Field season we already got our 1st national qualifier!! Taylor Vallangeon runs a 14:54 for the 5k, which is faster than his outdoor 5k pr 🥴🥴
Great start to the season!!!
Men’s 4x1 runs 40.40 to win their heat and advance to Friday’s Final!!
This is also a new ONU school record!
Andrew Hudson, Vince Giuliano, Calvin Thomas and Jalen Dunnigan make up this relay.
Great race men!

One of our signed HS seniors sent me a picture the other day. It was him as a kid watching our team run. Pretty crazy to think about. There are four ONU guys who were All-America in both XC & TF in this pic. Hopefully we can say 5 in the coming years!
What to say about today? 9 PR’s, 4 SB’s & both teams finished 2nd. Men lost a close race by 4 points. We had the overall champ in the men’s race as well as the freshman of the year. Men had 7 in the top 15 for CCAC All-Conference. Women had 4 CCAC All-Conference.
Your ONU Tiger's Men's and Women's track and field teams both cracked the top 25 in the National rankings. The Women rank
#17
& the Men go into the weekend ranked
#22
! The tigers hit the track this weekend @ Grand Valley State and Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday

Women’s 4x8 crushes their season best and hits automatic qualifying time! Great legs all around but specifically want to S/O senior Abby Gilmore who just split a 2:18. What a gamer! Always rising to the occasion. They are currently sitting 8th in the Nation!
Despite our 2nd leg being tripped from behind, these women ran amazing and are your 3rd place finishers in the 4x4 earning All-American honors!! They ran their best time of the season, 3:45.63 and it was the 2nd fastest time ever by an ONU group!!
Three freshmen and a Munyan. New school record in the 4x8! Incredibly proud of how hard they worked this spring!! They finished 10th overall.

Jacey Schickel just ran 17:59.27 - 1st time breaking 18:00 in the 5k!!
NAIA National Qualifying time too!
19:52 PR —> 17:59 in four years!!
Way to bring that F.I.R.E.
@Schicjac
Maddie Robinson earns All-American honors in the Shot Put! She threw 13.36m for 7th place. Outstanding job and a much deserved honor!!

Women’s 4x4 cruises into Finals by winning heat two. See ya’ll on Saturday for the finals. That time is also a new school record.

Men’s 4x8 ran a season best time of 7:43.95 and finished 16th. We came in ranked 24th. Not what they wanted but its hard to be upset when you run the best you ever have. 🤷🏼♂️
Great job men!!
Taylor Vallangeon is your 2020 men’s CCAC cross country conference champion! Boston Brooks is the men’s Freshman of the Year! Taylor, Boston, Nate Mayo, Ty Banks, AJ Morgan, Josh Scharpenberg & John Munyan are CCAC All-Conference!!
We are incredibly proud of Bricyn for the amazing effort he gave today at the US Olympic Trials! Great effort and he finished 7th overall. Loved seeing the ONU uniform on TV.
Women’s 4x8 qualified for Nationals. Huge shout out to all the women but especially Keely Watts who got thrown in last minute and was asked to anchor the relay, ran 3 seconds faster than ever before and got us across the line under the standard by .17
Maddie Robinson who is already qualified for Nationals in the shot put decided one event wasn’t enough and hit the A standard in the Hammer with a throw of 51.90m (170’3”). She is currently 10th in the NAIA.
Lets take a minute to thank the unsung heroes of this season: The school administration for having faith in our program to safely host six(!!) T&F meets this year. Plus the volunteers and officials who worked our meets.
Without your support, none of it would have be possible.
It’s race day!! Women race at 12:00est and men race at 1:00est. Looking forward to seeing our men race for the first time since our home opener!! Both fields are stacked with ranked teams, should be a good day!!
In the 400m Hannah Antkoviak breaks her own school record running 55.11 for 4th place and Kiara Carter sets a new PR of 56.23 for 7th place. Two All-American performances for these awesome women!
