If Christ had to die to bring me forgiveness, my sin must be pretty awful.
If Christ was willing to die to bring me into God's family, his love must be pretty awesome.
I've read three quarters of the way through the Bible and literally the main character of the whole thing just died.
It's gonna take a miracle to turn this around.
Tim Keller on twitter:
I had cereal with milk for breakfast this morning. It was tasty.
Replies:
1 - Me too! Have a blessed day Tim!
2 - Nice way to alienate the lactose intolerant.
3 - True Presbyterians eat porridge.
Went to a church this morning which 16 years ago was about to close its doors, and today was celebrating being able to take on its part-time pastor full time.
Kingdom growth is often slow and needs great patience.
But the Lord grows his Church where, when and how pleases him.
What are your views of open air evangelism?
I think that

It can be a wonderful way to get the good news of Jesus out there, particularly to people who might not have any Christians in their lives.
I'm talking here about Jesus' importance for followers of different religions, & many with no religion.
Soon after, a passerby told me: "Jesus is baloney" (no, I haven't edited that for good manners, those were his words)
I plan to keep doing this because...
I very rarely see explicit racism on here from people who claim the name of Jesus, but when I do it's like a punch in the stomach.
Racism is not only unbiblical; it is antichrist.
Christians are kind not because of a fear of punishment in the afterlife, but because they believe in the inherent value of humanity and have a foundation for that belief.

Oh.
If Christ had to die to deal with sin, our sin must be far worse than we often realise.
If Christ was willing to die to deal with sin, his love must be far greater than we often realise.
Today I'm leading the Thanksgiving service for the life of a 2 year old boy from our church.
There is joy, because we know he's safe with Jesus now and always.
But there's also much grief - and rightly so.
Please pray for the mum, dad and brother if you get the opportunity.

How would the Incarnation, showing that God is the One who comes to dwell among his people full of grace and truth, be a Bad Bit needing to be taken out?
A young man, N, came into our morning service on Sunday after seeing this on The Oasis.
No church background. Please pray the Lord would be at work, helping him know true hope in Jesus.

When we point out that the Quiet Time™️ is a relatively novel aspect of the Christian life, I think we should also note that for much of the last 2,000 years, church services have been full of the hearing of God's word, not just one short section.
