In our last week in office, we were very close to getting the #WozaWork agreement executed with @JhbPartnership . Treasury Grant funding received. Just down to SLA finalization. This would see up to 5000 unemployed citizens get an opportunity to work cleaning up the inner city.

Today in council we observed our city slide deeper into the dark past. The city has effectively been taken back by ANC with the help of the EFF & PA. They have the numbers from the 2021 LGE. Quantity over quality. But that’s democracy. With difficulty we accept. We did our best.

I’ve been cleared by the Public Protector on the malicious “tender interference” allegations against me as MMC by JPC officials in 2022. This case was always nothing but an abuse of state resources by officials & politicians in an attempt to prevent us from closing the taps.

The bribe culture is the single biggest risk to our society. It empowers a recruitment phenomenon based on the power one holds. Why should you pay someone extra for a job they are paid (by you) to do?. Bribery, for politicians in particular, should carry capital punishment.
