LIFE: you can be interviewing Rosie, @RMcElhenney and @VancityReynolds at the Racecourse one day, and back in hospital the next thanks to some of the unpredictable side effects of chemo. Glad to say Emi’s just polished off a bag of Magic Star chocs - always a good sign 👍

🏃‍♀️ #40 : A year ago to THIS moment I received a phonecall telling me to get Emi to hospital. We were sat down and I heard the words tumours, surgery and chemotherapy. Run number 40 marks the dark moment I couldn’t imagine ever feeling lightness again. My girl is a superstar 🌟

A year ago today: Emi’s 1st chemo. We were handed a mountain of paperwork, with no guarantees. I still remember the nurse who sat with me as I sobbed. But I’ll never forget how just 1hr after treatment, she took 4 steps for the 1st time. Always reminding me buck up my ideas!

2 months ago, Emi was in theatre for 6.5 hrs following 12 weeks of intense chemo. For over a week she was nil-by-mouth and had a tube draining fluid from her stomach. Today we had a magic day out at @altontowers Nes i ddim meiddio dychmygu ddyddia fel heddiw yn digwydd eto! 🧡

So this morning I decided to use reverse psychology on the Emergency List. I did not get washed. I did not get dressed. I was not ‘ready’… And lo and behold, it worked! We went to theatre in our jamas, and Emi is now back and fitted with a port instead of central line 🙂

Just had a visit from a nurse who stayed up with me on our very first night on this journey. That night she told me “you’ll still have your smiley little girl, it’ll just take a different path to get there.” I’ve just told her how often I’ve replayed those words in my head 💛

Running kept me going in 2022. From now until the end of Emi’s treatment, which will hopefully be in March, any funds I raise through running will go towards the Oncology Unit at Alder Hey (Ward 3B) and Ward Dewi at Ysbyty Gwynedd💛

So, it’s been quite a week: Caernarfon ➡️ Heathrow ➡️Vienna ➡️ Bratislava ➡️ Trnava ➡️ Vienna ➡️ Heathrow ➡️ Glasgow ➡️ Preston ➡️ Caerydydd 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿⚽️ I’ve loved it - I’m incredibly lucky to do what I do. Heading home today tho, to resume role of Mama. I can’t bloody wait! ❤️😊
