My son is almost 2 and sleeps beside me in his cot. He starts to stir around 5am and says “morning” or “hi mama” but if I show him Im still “asleep” he drifts back off… the other morning he said “Hi Niamh”, I started to laugh so now that’s what I’m waking up to every day since🤣

Brother-in-law is Covid positive. Wife and kid are off to her mothers as they’re negative. We just FaceTimed them… he has beer chilling in the fridge and the TV to himself for the day and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a happier man 😆

After we got married the odd person would ask when we were going to have kids. Personally, it never bothered me. HOWEVER since having a child I’m constantly being asked when are we having another and it would be “cruel” to only have one. Drives me insane!

Today is the first day that I’ve really been in our new house on my own. I keep waiting for the estate agent to call and be like “Get out!” 🤣 Traumatised. It feels so strange being here. Slowly starting to feel like I can let go of some of the tension from the last few months.

We got the keys to our new house last Friday… Thank you so much for all the words of encouragement last month 💗 My god, were we not prepared for the amount of work that has been put in over the last week but it’s been great. Feeling so lucky 🥹🏡

Yesterday we came within hours of losing the house we’ve been preparing to buy for the last 4 month. I can count on 2 fingers the amount of times my heart felt like it was physically breaking and this is the 3rd time. Still reeling today.

I saw someone here say that people should be entitled to walk their dog in peace. There’s not a dog I don’t say hello to when I pass and, where possible, ask if I can pet them (except working dogs, obvs). I’ve never once got a bad vibe off a dog owner. Now Im paranoid 😢

Bringing baby to Dublin today to get his first haircut. He’ll sit in a little car, while watching cartoons on his own personal tv, will get a cert to say he had a hair cut, as well as a lollipop & a balloon… Now in my day Mam would just cut your hair with the house scissors!

An observation...through work, Id need to ask customers for their eircode. From now compared to 12 months ago the amount of ppl who now know theirs off by heart is like night & day. From First Aid training, knowing your eircode can save vital moments for an ambulance. Go us! 💪🇮🇪

An individual stole my bag last night in a Temple Bar pub... she watched as I searched for it everywhere. I made eye contact with her & I just knew she had it. The Gardai were called & I managed to get it back after confronting her (she’s out on probation). Feeling powerful 💪

I would see these tents go up and be filled with dread at the thoughts of wild and endangered animals being used for our entertainment. Thanks to the ban, the only animals in the show were dogs, some sheep and ducks. A massive step in the right direction.

I want to put into context of how special today was while we watched our Dad run the #DCM , a few years ago he lost all of his hair when he underwent treatment, life was uncertain. Today he ran 42 kilometres... (see my last post) 🙂 Again, well done everyone #DCM19

A pet peeve of mine is when people ask “Have you got a family?”, aka “Have you got children?”. It is possible to have a “family” when you have a partner, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, pets, or friends who are as good as family 😖
