23 people were present. No one saw the moon save two Saudis who claimed to see it with their naked eyes at sun set. To be clear; the moon was scientifically impossible to see! Not one member of the British contingent saw the moon with their eyes nor telescope nor phone.

As we have explained in the “featured” post, Saudi have already indicated and published for a Wednesday Eid. We expect them to say “no moon seen”; mosques in the UK who follow Saudi will then fast tomorrow and do Eid on Wednesday. Let’s see what happens.

To Saudi’s credit they have never asked the UK formally to follow them. Indeed, time and time again their ulema have publically stated that no other country should follow their moonsighting. Yet many mosques in the UK do, and will begin their fasting from tomorrow.
