He appeared in 2018 in the Ustyurt SNR, the first live Persian leopard recorded in Kazakhstan and brought hope and resolve. Yesterday he was found dead 250 km north of the Ustyurt reserve, cause of death to be determined. You will be forever in my ❤️ Tay Sheri.

This Persian 🐆 nicknamed Radik was first camera trapped 3 years ago some 78 km south east of here in the Kopetdag. Radik is now 6 or 7 and seemingly the dominant male traveling frequently through and across two beautiful gorges, Karayalchi and Sulidere. #TeamBarsTurkmenistan

The Persian leopard was last recorded in Georgia in 2009 in a protected area at the border with Azerbaijan called Vashlovani (Photo by NACRES). The leopard, called “Noah”, was recorded for first time in 2003 since 1954. I hope more leopards will soon reappear in Georgia.
