Georgiy Gongadze was kidnapped and murdered in 2000 near Kyiv. High officials of President Kuchma killed him because of his brave fight for freedom of speech. His death changed the future of the whole country.

People wonder why El*n and his ilk are so ambivalent about Ukraine and open to Russia. My 2 cents: they see most reasonable people being pro Ukraine, and because they think theyโre too smart to go with the crowd, they inherently gravitate towards the other side
Thank you so much for all your kind words for sharing your memories of my father โค๏ธ If you would like to know more about his story, my sister

documented it eloquently back in 2021, in this article:
Me, my sister and my mom, at a demonstration in Ukraine, some time in the 2 months in 2000 between when my father was kidnapped and his body was found. Sign reads: โ(Those in) power must fulfill their promises. Find journalist Georgiy Gongadzeโ

Just awful. This line is also a train wreck - the "Ukraine has always been Russia" thing not an "assertion disputed by many Ukrainians," it is a ahistorical justification for genocide. Ukraine's historical claim to its existence is not up for debate

This is extremely sad. Ukraine: The Latest has been more than just a podcast - itโs kept us connected to the daily ins and outs of the war unlike anything else. This chronicle is important for history and memory. David has been a huge part of that. He will be missed.
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague, David Knowles.
David was a talented journalist and a much-loved friend and a colleague. He will be greatly missed.
Kuchma was caught on tape conspiring with his cronies about how to get rid of my dad, an independent journalist who called out his corruption. The 1st plan was to kidnap him & give him to the Chechens, eventually he was kidnapped and murdered. Curious as to why this was left out.

Kuchma represents the worst of early independent Ukraine - an enabler of corruption, cronyism, thuggery and murder. We had to flee the country because of him.

this is not unknown information, it's just shocking you wouldn't present it.
