This morning, the District was made aware of the COVID-19 outbreak at a care home in Lynn Valley. We understand this news is concerning, as care home residents are some of our most vulnerable people in our community. The health of the community is our primary concern.
At times when weโre distancing ourselves from each other in person, virtual events have a special meaning. Join us in recognizing Earth Hour on Saturday, March 28 from 8:30pm-9:30pm as we turn off our lights & acknowledge the significant energy reductions weโve achieved so far.
Today, we pay tribute to workers who have passed away, were injured, or became ill due to workplace incidents by flying our municipal flags at half-staff. In the midst of COVID-19, we are grateful to all frontline & essential workers for keeping us safe.

DYK when cars are washed on the street, soap enters creeks & harms fish? Water levels are low during the summer & any added pollution is really hard on animals living in creeks. Cars should be washed in a car wash facility or area where water is directed into the sanitary system.
