Evan Bouchard is far from perfect. But, he remains one of the most talented defencemen this franchise has ever had. Using stats and video, here is an in-depth analysis of Bouchard's game in all three zones of the ice, and what makes him so valuable:

Lots of talk about Edmonton’s offence, and rightfully so of course, but a big shoutout to Skinner. This save while they were up 2-1 was an absolutely massive one, as the Oilers would score to make it 3-1 less than three minutes later. This is the type of big save they *needed.*

Tonight, McDavid, Draisaitl, Ekholm, and Bouchard played 19 minutes together at EV. Shot attempts were 35-6 and scoring chances were 19-2 in favour of Edmonton, as they scored 3 goals and owned a 86 percent xG% in those minutes. What an absolutely phenomenal performance.

It's scary to think that Leon Draisaitl turns 27 in about 7-8 months. Connor McDavid turns 26 next year. Meanwhile, Edmonton is *still* a fringe team that has a legitimate chance of missing the playoffs this season. What a phenomenal display of organizational ineptitude.

Woodcroft and Manson had a .643 PTS% with the Oilers. 13 bad games is enough for them to be fired. In 5 years, Ken Holland has yet to find a starting goalie. He's paying Campbell and Nurse over $14M. None of his draft picks are impact NHL players. But, he gets to stay. :)

Watch this play by Broberg. First, he wins a puck battle against the Florida forechecker to help Edmonton regain possession. A few seconds later, he fires a gorgeous stretch pass leading to a Henrique breakaway. I think he’s already the team’s third best defenceman at breakouts.

For me, the rest of this series will be a massive test for Knoblauch. Draisaitl’s line *cannot* spent most of their TOI with Nurse/Ceci. If that continues, it means Knoblauch is either ignoring the data, or isn’t aware of it at all; either way, I would be concerned.
