Hearing men from LA name off a random intersection and immediately knowing what gangs are there will forever fascinate me. Like this was/is survival tactics for them and I didn't realize that growing up
So with people picking LA as their overrated city, I wonder how I would view it if it weren’t my hometown. If it were based on visiting without knowing anyone from here, I could see how that changes a lot.
Hate that I’m missing it this year, but if you are in LA and even slightly interested in House music with Black people and dancing then you should go to Soulnic on Saturday.
Must you guys eat on dates?? How about hiking, golfing, taking walks in scenic areas, karting, bowling, sip and paint, pottery or baking classes, etc?? Must you eat???
The cinematography in tonight's episode was beautiful. Also, I don't recall there ever being a show that captures a random ass day Black natives might have in the South Bay

Didn’t need a birthday to realize it, but my life is really filled with love. From my man to my friends to my family and colleagues who treat me like they’ve known me for forever. Truly grateful and overwhelmed with love 💙

I didn’t think I wanted/ needed to see another Tupac related doc, but Dear Mama is EXCELLENT. The parallels between his life and Afeni’s life… it’s just so well done.
I’m on vacation but have to say PLEASE be sure that you are actually GRAMMY-nominated and not “participated on a GRAMMY-nominated album.” Thanks so much
Hectic ass week but the highlight so far has been the listening party for Marsha Ambrosius’ new album with Dre executive producing. What an incredible gift they are about to release 🔥🔥🔥
Anderson Paak brought out Thundercat, Jojo, KING, Jhene, Kweli and the legend Raphael Saadiq for a free community event. Really enjoyed helping with this today.
Like once a year I get the urge to search for my childhood friends that I lost contact with. Really makes you realize how some people are nowhere near social media.
So I just came from a screening of the Color Purple. I don’t usually care for musicals but that was one of the best movies I’ve seen. THATS how you re-imagine a classic.
When I was at Howard, I was chair of the Religious Fellowship Council. And it was my job to run cults off campus. Just know that they used to catch students lacking ALLLLLLL the time.
I feel like “Don’t waste my time” would be a lot bigger if Usher dropped it right now….coming off Tiny Desk, the memes, the tour, and all the Verzuz rumors
