The thing about hitting rock bottom, when all the walls come crumbling in is this...
It allows you to rebuild, brick by brick.
There will come a point where you say:
"Fuck it, I'm sick of being sick".
That realisation is what will lead you to the next stage.
Inner peace.
@ML_Philosophy
We confuse attachment with love.
True love knows when to let go.
True humility knows that love is not possessive.
It knows when something or someone has to come into, or leave our lives.
Attachment = I NEED x to be happy.
Love = I accept things as they are, even my pain.
@ML_Philosophy
Listen to your heart.
You'll know.
It really is that simple.
We often know, but..
We start overthinking the situation.
Doubt creeps in, we confuse ourselves when the truth is simple and beautiful.
Why?
Because we are scared to truly commit.
When you know, you know.
@ML_Philosophy
Trying too hard, and thus moving away from their genuine self.
Let go of who you think you should be, do the real work of reflecting on your past, processing layers of nonsense, and become who you actually are.
In doing so, you'll find the people who truly vibe with you.

Not forgiving yourself or them after the fact.
The healing has to start with self, forgive yourself, even if you don't feel you're in the wrong.
Open up your perspective, start to realise that the limited view of "I am X" is making you miserable and find your true nature.

For those wondering how to dissolve karma, here are some ways:
- Live in a moral way, accumulate good merit (karma) (check out the noble 8 Fold path)
- Do good service to others, without attachment to result
- Cultivate loving kindness, compassion, joy & purify your trauma
There are 4 stages you go through in your life
But 98% of people get stuck at the 3rd stage
(Which is where all your suffering comes from)
Moving to the 4th stage is your life's destiny
Here's why & how👇
@ML_Philosophy
Two techniques that help you fall asleep:
1. 4-7-8 breathing technique:
• Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds
• Hold your breath for 7
• Exhale for 8 forcefully
• Repeat 4x
This engages the parasympathetic nervous system (relax, rest etc) instead of fight or flight

How they act under stress and duress.
How they act when they are up big, do they stay humble and grounded.
How they act when down bad, do they give up or persist.
Do they stay true to themselves and your relationship, or give into social pressure and betray themselves.
@ML_Philosophy
Walking, in a flow state.
Mind calm, heart open.
Sense of self, minimal.
Enjoying the inherent beauty of all things around me.
Bathing in the joy of existing.
The wind in the trees.
The fluttering of leaves.
The sharp-eyed look of the crows.
The sound of running water.

@ML_Philosophy
It's rather simple:
Be your genuine self
Who you really are, not all the crap you think you should be
As humans, we are instinctively attracted to & gravitate towards the genuine
When you embrace your true self, you attract those who are meant to be in your life

Overthinking is the result of over attachment to a certain perspective
(I am strong, I am weak, I like this, I hate that, this represents me, I love my body, I hate my body etc)
Release the knots, stop overthinking
For those struggling:
Why Meditation and Mindfulness help to stop overthinking.
It's all about gaining new perspectives/ways of looking. These new perspectives allow us to loosen attachments.
Over attachment to a certain perspective produces overthinking.
@ML_Philosophy
Most people's negative behavioral patterns, that prevent them from making progress or becoming the highest version of themselves, are a result of subtle childhood trauma that they never address or seek to process.
They repeat the same mistakes, and think it's fate's cold hand.
@ML_Philosophy
We confuse love with attachment
When attached, we cling on tight
We are, in our own words, "head over heels"
We treat love like some shiny new toy
Over time, the shine fades away..
And what is left with is the reality:
My "love" was childish attachment
True love is eternal
@mane3sha
The ability to:
Hold multiple contrasting perspectives..
Recognizing the validity of all..
While clinging to none...
Will dramatically help your:
•Relationships
•Problem-solving abilities
•Potential to navigate the world skillfully.
Don't cling to concepts.
@ML_Philosophy
Reflect on their childhood, identify trauma, forgive yourself and others involved and let go
Too many people don't do this, end up living in an unconscious way, being pulled around by the nose by their underlying trauma
By your 30s and 40s, the load becomes too heavy to bear

By knowing himself truly and speaking from the heart.
In surrender and self-knowledge there lies confidence, power and the ability to transmit a message that rings true.
When you speak in such a manner, in a genuine manner, it resonates with all who hear it.

The softness to accept your partner, in all their terrible and glorious flaws.
The wisdom to accept yourself in turn.
The insight to process your own baggage, so that you may move forward and not get in your own way.

To know yourself intimately.
In doing so, you'll develop "eyes that see".
Everything from micro ticks to the tone of one's voice can be valuable information.
When you know yourself, you'll know what questions to ask to knock down the protective walls of one's ego.
@ML_Philosophy
This can be a useful practice: (breathing techniques in general are an excellent way to put a stop on short-term anxiety)
Long term, it's more about shifting one's perception to allow for a more spacious, open point of view.

Sure.
Because there's personal love - You love your partner as a person.
And then Universal love - where you love your partner as an entity, a being sharing this bizarre adventure with you.
Someone worthy of compassion and acceptance no matter what.
Want to start a meditation practice..
But have no idea where to start?
I've been there, and I wish I had a cheat sheet to guide me
That's why I made this:
A simple 5-step plan to help you develop a DEEP & POWERFUL practice in 2023:
The past and future are illusions..
Yet 95% of people spend their lives there..
When you DEEPLY immerse yourself in the now..
You realise how:
- Ruminating on the past
- Agitating about the future..
Are absolutely redundant ways of thinking
Reclaim your glory in the NOW
The path to inner stillness & empowerment begins with realizing a simple fact:
99% of thoughts are an absolute vanity based on myriad assumptions & attachments
They are produced by the EGO for the entertainment of the EGO
A beautifully simple & empowering mental model to adopt
@ML_Philosophy
Realising how deeply most people are suffering
(and it's 90% of the time self created and over attachment to "I AM X" consciousness)
Not living up to your potential.
Seeing others not live up to their potential and settle for mediocrity
Seeing those broken by the system
There are two primary energetic states you can live from:
Contraction:
> Fear based
> Constantly tense
> Feels life is against you
> Always-on low level anxiety
> Doomed to repeat habitual patterns
> Random & utterly impersonal sensory stimulus can trigger you & send you into a
"I want to have a Mystical experience"

You're having one
Right here & now
Be courageous and drop all the assumptions!
Ruthlessly question your deepest held beliefs
COME BACK TO YOUR SENSES
There's no greater grand adventure than this
Let go
It's all here!
At 18 I lost my Father to cancer..
It was the darkest time of my life..
But now I'm the happiest & most empowered I've ever been
Here, I'll show you how:
@ML_Philosophy
First, make sure you love & accept yourself fully
Even your strangest and most awkward of parts
In doing so, you'll be ready to accept them and all their strangeness as well
Keep compassion in mind..for we are all uniquely traumatized

Develop these qualities:
- Stillness of mind
- Steadiness of attention & heart
- Compassion
- Mutual joy
- Goodwill
- Equanimity
- Discipline
Also:
Don't hide from your demons:
Face, defeat & embrace them
Train body, mind & spirit
Be as strong as iron, as gentle as a lamb
Slow down..
What's the rush?
Contentment isn't found in some arbitrary moment in the future..
But right here..
And right now
Let go into the profound nourishment of the present moment
My wife is in the hospital..
She'll give birth to our daughter tomorrow
(Which also happens to be my birthday)
A client asked me today how I'm so calm about it all
It's a simple case of surrendering all the "What ifs" to God
And trusting in his plan and perfection
Sleep is THE fundamental pillar for health
Before I give clients advice on anything related to the mind
I always ask
"How's your sleep?"
I'll be honest..
I found the answers surprising and disturbing..
Gratitude is the ultimate state of receivership..
But the most potent way to tap in is RADICALLY different than you might expect..
Here's how to start to make it your default state:
"If you fail and it brings you down - Your perspective is too narrow
Life is here to make you understand your potential, not to make you suffer"
Embrace failure for what it is..
A step towards your greatest good..
A necessary part of the path..
And a profound teacher
On your spiritual journey there will be 3 stages:
- Doubt
"That sounds like bullsh*t"
"I'm not that kind of guy"
"That sounds far too outlandish.."
- Intellectual understanding
You've started to accept there's value..
Perhaps you've even gotten a glimpse
But haven't
Last night I made my wife cry
The reason?
The answer I gave to her question:
"How did you do it..?"
"How did you break free?"
You see..
My wife had been out with friends all day at a rug weaving class
(One of her many hobbies painting, Kimono wearing and among rock

"Narcissists are driven by a manic, haunting terror of their own invisibility and mediocrity. Their behaviours are not symptoms of self-love, they are proof of its tragic absence"
This lack of love, this manic fear, is why they try.
Your self-love is why they will fail.
Brother..
Slow down
Allow your mind to come back home
It's been off stuck in the past.
Racing around in the future
Bring it back to the body
Back to the NOW
The more your mind unconsciously roams..
The more TENSION, lack & sense of unworthiness you feel
The more you

This:
You know why men disappear to a garden shed at the bottom of the garden?
We need space
- To build
- To think
- To reflect
- To process
- To plot our next moves
This doesn't mean we don't love you
Quite the opposite
We're taking steps to secure OUR future together
@ML_Philosophy
Married & Happy (most of the time)
It's a constant process of:
- Letting go of what YOU think is best for YOU & focusing on what's best for your team
- Compromise. Sometimes beyond what you think is reasonable
- Making good on promises
- Understanding commitment to love
Meditation is one of the most powerful skills you can possibly learn..
It enhances EVERY area of your life..
But 95% never get past the first stage
So I made a guide to the first 4 stages..
From Beginner to Pre-intermediate
To help you on your path
But first..
Some general
If you wish to return your life to the sacred..
You must hold within your heart..
At all times..
A continual yes
It is this acceptance of life as it is..
And yourself as you are..
That is basis for the heart to crack open..
And for you to start accessing the infinite
Yesterday was my final day in Japan after 7 years..
(3 years in Nagasaki
4 years in Osaka)
I made the decision to move here almost immediately after graduating university..
The reason?
Love
I'll come to that a bit later..
But first..
A little bit about how this was all
Your natural state is joy, peace, abundance and love
The path to experiencing this for yourself is constant surrender
Surrender of what?
The egoic payoff of clinging on to the attachments that weigh you down in pride, desire and fear
LET GO to RISE UP
@ML_Philosophy
Yes.
It gives us two important things:
1.) The space to heal after taking a savage blow. To rebuild our energies, to reinvigorate our body and to refocus the mind.
2.) The knowledge that, ultimately, what we're looking for can't be found in comfort, and we must push forward.
Meditation is the highest leverage skill you can possibly learn..
Why?
You train 2 skills which impact 99.5% of your life..
(For the better)

> Deep concentration
Combine these into:
> Flow
> Presence

> Confidence
> Endless energy

Subconscious programming is powerful.
Wanting to fit in is powerful.
Herd mentality is powerful.
Subjugating people's minds is powerful..
Propaganda is powerful..
What else is powerful?
Your gut instinct
Your heart's reaction
Your ability to think freely
Trust yourself.
You're not bored
Life is not dull
You're just in a state of subtle contraction
Rushing through life in a state of dissociated unconsciousness
The product of thinking that some arbitrary moment in an imagined future could somehow be better than the eternal NOW
(Which is
@ML_Philosophy
Not realizing that the things you are searching for:
• Happiness
• Joy & Bliss
• Peace & calm
• Purpose & meaning
• Connection
• Love & being loved
Are not a product of building up..
But of letting go.
Brother..
You're probably rushing again
Slow down
Awareness grounded in the body..
(Down and in)
Engage the senses
(Instead of mental fantasies)
One thing a time
This is how tension that leads to procrastination..
Leads to joyous expression and peak performance
Brother..
It's too easy
It's too easy to doomscroll before bed..
And then wonder why you're lying there for 30 mins not able to sleep
It's too easy to reach for your phone the moment you wake up
And wonder why you're mind is a scattered, dull mess throughout the day
It's
Why you struggle to take aligned action and instead end up doomscrolling & watching p*rn
In every moment..
There are two Meta choices:
- A powerful aligned choice that moves you towards your goals
- An unskillful action that creates anxiety and lack
Here's the thing..
You have an incredible power to transmute the adversity in your life into PERSONAL POWER
(Love + Joy)
At 18 I started losing my hair rapidly due to the stress of losing my Father to cancer
I was bouncing around 150 - ANGER all the way to 310 OPTIMISM
It was a bizarre mix of
Pythagoras, Genesis, Joseph, Jesus, Islam and the Masons..
All seemingly linked by an enigmatic truth..
A grand mystery that echoed outward like a sacred whisper in my mind and soul..
And left my logical mind grasping for a rational response to what it had just read..
You're washing the dishes..
But you're thinking about the 4 things you'd rather be doing..
And so it becomes an act of tension & stress..
Let resistance fall away..
Embrace the reality of what "Is"..
Doing this..
Again and again..
Is the essence of mindfulness
Let go
The reason you suffer is simple..
You're clinging on so tightly to your own self-imposed prison..
Seduced by your story..
Sure of your separation..
The antidote is awareness..
Gentle joy
Surrender
Self-love
Letting go
Cultivate diligently..
Reclaim your glory
@ML_Philosophy
You fall in love with yourself
Completely
Every part
The parts you love and cling to, in humility, offer those successes to God
The parts you hate, in compassion and love, forgive and embrace
When you do..
Something magic happens...
They find you.
Is it possible to find true, genuine love, a soul mate in today's world?
I believe it is, as I found mine.
The vital change that had to occur?
Complete self forgiveness, self acceptance and self-love.
Really, deeply loving yourself.
The inner attracts the outer.
When you're incredibly present..

Because love does. Duality. Just like pride and shame, happiness and misery, they are all intimately connected with each other.
It's natural to bounce between both sides, just don't get stuck on one.
One of the most potent tools to increase consciousness + empower your meditations?
Simply be kind to life in all it's forms..
Including yourself
It takes courage, strength and humility to be selfless
