This is just so mind boggling to me. I’ve never seen a losing team, much less a two-time losing team, get so much attention over the actual winners and national champions.
DC Public Schools have begun in-person instruction. Since then, 105 faculty/staff members and 30 students have tested positive for COVID-19. 100 people are in quarantine, and a beloved teacher passed away over the weekend.
And for what?

@Forrestthe3rd
This entire segment was poor journalism. You said the “government confirmed” and then had a whole segment as of the government’s confirmation was indeed fact. You threw the Hamas denial in at the end, only to have your colleagues follow up with “it’s hard to believe” the denial.
@atrupar
Tweeting this while students are currently being brutalized by the state is quite the choice. Dems from Biden on down have been calling for this for a week. But yeah, we’re the children 🤷🏽♂️
@Amberisms_

The whataboutism everytime someone mentions Gaza is tiring. The US is providing military, financial, and political support to Israel, so yes, call this one out specifically. This student doesn’t need to be absolved of anything. You want to talk about other places then give your

Not gonna lie. I ordered from “Burger Den” once and the bbq bacon chicken sandwich slaps. I looked it up after the fact and learned it was Denny’s. But I wouldn’t have tried it otherwise. So idk. Mixed feelings over here 😂
@KevOnStage
We’ve been conditioned to believe that jobs that don’t require a college degree aren’t worth living wages. How many times have we heard someone threaten a kid by saying if they don’t make good grades then they’ll end up flipping burgers or picking up trash?
@TerryWatkinsJr1
"I really wanted to be against genocide and war crimes but some protestors disrupted the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and that was just too much!"
@OnPointPress_
You know who else’s views are valid? Deangelo Fletcher’s. And the idea he needs to be “absolved” because he didn’t say all the countries you would have liked him to is pretty arrogant.
How does one claim to write about education inequality then slam teachers for not doing enough to maintain virtual instruction during a pandemic bc “children can’t teach themselves science and math.” There are so many things wrong here. Let’s start with the basics:
@JakeSherman
He only got the job because he was the last man standing between "moderate" Rs working with Dems to empower McHenry. The base would have erupted if that happened. Now they can get back to baseless hearings and passing messaging bills that'll never become law
@brahmresnik
@cindymccain
Far be it from me to give the GOP advice but I would think after losing both senate seats and having the presidential contest in the state go Democrat, there would be more pressing issues than censuring the widow of the state's former senator.

So many people are using "defund" with varying definitions. If you have to constantly explain what it means, you're losing.
Restructuring police departments to operate w/ fewer resources and re-appropriating those funds into community programs can be part of reforming policing.

Lol not necessarily. They can put limits on who they give stimulus money that you weren’t even entitled to. It’s still free money. Everyone just doesn’t qualify to get it.
The union says the teacher was forced to go back despite raising concerns about her medical conditions. DCPS says she volunteered to go back. Either way, this terrible situation was likely avoidable.
Teachers are doing the best they can. They are also human beings dealing with the same fears and challenges brought on by COVID like everyone else. But once again, under paid over worked teachers are expected to be super heroes and sacrifice their own being for your child.
Children need built in routines and procedures that take weeks and months for them to fully get down. After this is all over some researcher will do a study that will show what we already know. Children who benefit most from virtual instruction will be from the privileged class.
@msolurin
Yall aren’t serious people lol if Kendrick said he fed Drake info about beating on his fiance and his kid not really being his y’all would be eating it up 😂
Second, virtual instruction will do absolutely nothing for the children without the home structures and supports in place for it. It’s not the same as adults where you can just give us all laptops and we quickly adapt.
@toddstarnes
Better comparison: If a bakery can refuse service based on their values and policies, then tech companies can refuse to host people on their platforms based on their values and policies.
So doing so online is going to be that much more difficult when compounded by all the fact that not all children have the home environment to receive the instruction and receive the necessary support from their parent/guardian.

Well was a perfectly executed deflection. The conversation started with the rightful characterization of Omar’s comments and ended on cancer and GMOs...while the original point was never addressed.
Someone who writes about education inequality should have considered these factors before writing this terrible take. Lastly it’s clear you’ve never been a teacher. Because if you had you would know that not only can children not teach themselves math and science...
@shaunking
Not a Bernie supporter. Not even a Shaun King fan half the time. But I can objectively say Zerlina’s narrative is false. And she’s been playing victim since she was respectfully called out on her statements.
@CenTexAg
Well she turned off the comments, which is basically admitting defeat in Twitter speak lol. But seriously, the trap bar itself is like 50lbs so that’s really 70lbs. And also, mind your business 😂
@RVAwonk
This week one of the kindergarten students in my class was excitedly telling me about “the Catherine Johnson movie” aka Hidden Figures. Her mom told me that she’s been trying to get her daughter excited about science. I’m glad we live in a country where women can “do science”.
@Bakari_Sellers
I disagree. This was critically important. More cities need to stand up to big companies and against corporate welfare and the eventual displacement of its low-income residents.
@Bakari_Sellers
To be fair, this is not an “attack”. We have to stop labeling legitimate criticisms as “attacks”. I’m a huge fan of Senator Harris but she’ll have to explain and defend her record on criminal justice similar to any other elected official.
Arrests being made right now & will continue until the crowd disperses.
These protesters belong in jail.
Antisemitism will not be tolerated in Texas. Period.
Students joining in hate-filled, antisemitic protests at any public college or university in Texas should be expelled.

Income is definitely regionally specific; however, few people make over $100K and even fewer make $300K (which is what you would need to bring in $25K/month). Less than one percent of women earn over $300K. So the original post is highly unrealistic for the overwhelming majority.

What you describe is not DEI, Senator. So you haven't seen DEI backfire. Rather, you've seen insincere attempts at implementing DEI.

Not sure what’s more funny. “Karen” being called an ethnic slur or one of the biggest white supremacists trying time call out an organization for using so-called slurs.
This “rally around the mayor” effect couldn’t have come at a more critical time for Brandon Scott’s re-election campaign. (Not talking about the bridge; rather, the racist attacks against him.)
For the first time in the United States, a parent is being held accountable for a school shooting committed by her child. She ignored her son's mental health issues and bought him the gun he ultimately used to kill four of his classmates.
