I am a major Acolyte fan and reylo, if you're an obnoxious hater of either don't bother following me.
I'm a diehard Dyad stan, fellow Dyad lovers unite.

One of my sarcastic observations over the years as a Gen Xer:
1. Conservatives: You can never have children, never have sex even, unless you are married and financially stable!
2. Millennials and younger: Does not have children, not having sex as much, even
3.Conservatives:
The whole Game of Thrones franchise is a "Dead dove: don't eat", yet every day on this app, ppl stand on their soap box complaining about that dead dove they found.
The moment Boba Fett became relatable to me was when he finally got that big palace all to himself and Fennec and immediately threw zero parties just got a giant dog.
Are we ever going to live in a time where women and girls aren't patronized and infantilized for the media they consume? It's amazing how many progressive folks are happy to chime in and say that video games don't cause shootings, but claim

He is ready-made to play a Byronic character. Neither Heathcliff, nor Rochester are considered attractive for their time period, they are never "pretty boys", they are intelligent and intense and this is the source of their charisma. They loom like suns over planets.
@teckrio

And it's a disgusting picture because it reinforces the Calvinist notion popular amongs many conservatives today that people are only poor because they "waste money on expensive phones" or "use food stamps for lobsters". People are poor because they have bad wages.
@marvinjthompson
@jujuonthabeet
Yeah, was told this in middle school. Kinda screws over the introverts and is another way that our society is made for extroverted people, wealthy people with connections, etc. The thing that shoots the down the rags to riches story is most poor ppl don't know the hirers.
I'm pleasantly surprised the official Star Wars Kids youtube channel did NOT shy away from the reylo kiss today. Narrator even says "Ooh la la". As they should. Maybe Star Wars Kids channel has rights.
#reylo
So it's confirmed reylo is 100% soulmates, Terrio wanted his House Palpatine and House Skywalker story, and THEY KILLED HALF OF THE DYAD OFF AND RUINED THE ENTIRE 2 HOUSES MYTH. Make it make sense. That's all I'm asking. Make it make sense.

One of my mother's 40 something friends had no idea the Village People were gay. It was the 90s, we were dancing in her apartment, they talked about YMCA and it's meaning and this lady was clueless. She denied they were gay.
@BadMedicalTakes
No, they don't. It's odd because he doesn't ask if men get hard when they fear for their life. Sometimes male animals show erections when terrified, but it's a physiological response that in no way signifies they want to mate with their predator.
Everyday I wish that society would eventually discard that most ancient of patriarchal ideas: that girls are weak, malleable creatures with no moral compass easily swayed by books and songs.
How do so many people truly not understand the narrative importance or meaning for Kylo to kill his father? How do people pay zero attention to the fact all 3 films tell you point blank killing his father did not make him go full Dark because HE STILL LOVED HIM.
@mary_mary901
@BrendonLeslie
Exactly. They aren't doing it for the embryo's sake it's literally dumber than a fish. It's about THEIR sad fee fees. They are sad they don't get to force a woman to be in their life.
Star Wars Dudebros:
"Characters can't have 2 mothers!"
Also Dudebros:
"So that comic proves Palpatine did Sith magic to Shmi and that's why Ben and Rey are cousins."
@bearbrandmilkk
Yeah, it's okay and normal to feel insecure at 21, have imposter syndrome, and be afraid you aren't measuring up to other people your age.
It's quite another to believe your a child that can't interact with a 40 yr old.
As a long time Star Wars fan, let me just say that reylo ain't going away. That's as dumb as saying Vader fandom is waning. Reylo wasn't a crack ship, it was the story of the ST itself.
It always disappoints me when I learn SW writers are against redemption stories. I fell in love with Return of the Jedi as a child because of Anakin's redemption.
As someone who has worked in research: a "Terminal" study means that the animals are terminated at the conclusion of the study necropsy.
The animals can be any age: 6 month old mice, 7 year monkey.
Elon is being deceptive.
What does it say of ourselves that we trust boys and girls can play violent video games, watch horror movies and know they will be fine, but we apparently do not trust girls to read Twilight or enjoy Star Wars ships and to understand reality. Why?
with their whole hearts that girls that love Beauty and the Beast, Rey and Ben, or any enemies-to-lovers trope will fall in love with abusive men, or make men abusive despite zero evidence of this. This isn't a new phenomenon, btw.

Oh...yeah...sorry the field is saturated. That technology isn't in demand any more.
One of the good things about the ST is that it consistently shows that Rey's loneliness isn't a lack of people, as she's continually framed as being alone in a crowd.
Those few seconds at the end of TFA when they land and everybody rushes off and Rey is left standing there looking completely lost and alone. Momentary pain

Yeah, about 10 or 15 years ago there were tons of articles on the quickening death of Shriners, Elks, Free Masons. Ppl started replacing communal places with online forums in late 90s and it's just shifted society.
I love all these folks out here saying that bringing Ben Solo back would just be fan service as if that's not what a third of Star Wars content is in the first place. Witness every bit of Boba Fett content that has ever existed. And a fair amount of Vader stuff.
She straight up admitted she loved him here, the entire fight, like all major Star Wars battles was an emotional scene. She ends the fight admitting she loved him, and that in TLJ, she wanted to go with him.
Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights was deemed quite bad for girls. Jane Eyre was also considered rather immoral and would teach women to love the wrong men. This refrain isn't new, and folks on the right AND the left do this.
SO many people watched TFA and didn't get this AT ALL. It was only a test for Kylo Ren to kill his father, because Snoke knew Kylo loved his father. Kylo could kill strangers. It was the entire point of Snoke having him kill him. And it BROKE Kylo. As Snoke said, TLJ, Kylo FAILED
Anyways, Poe and Rey are good examples of how you and someone else be fundamentally good ppl, work together when you need to, empathize, share friends, but still not vibe together and that's okay.
@AureliusGrindy
@Ruby_Stevens
I'm ace and this is not even remotely aphobic. She's talking explicitly about people claiming they are harmed for merely seeing a sex scene.
A person should not feel harmed by simply seeing something they aren't fond of.
Unless Rian Johnson himself states that he's not making a SW movie, I don't believe it. Everything "report" keeps going back to that one very biased article.

None of them ever reflect on the fact that they mindlessly obey demands to wear shirts and shoes in stores, even though there is no law demanding they do so. I'm glad they do, but really, they are conforming penguins like everyone else, they just don't think about it.

As one of the Spice Girls famously noted, when you're a tiny kid Madonna's Like a Virgin is just fun to sing and might as well be Like a Gherkin. You don't know the meaning or care.
Obi-wan and Anakin are not a Force Dyad 😒, ppl really want their faves to be reylo so much.
Look, I love Obi-wan and Anakins relationship and story but they are no more a Dyad than Rey is the Chosen One.
Does Din Djarin ever wash his clothes, clean Grogu's coat?

Black egrets do this because they are creating a shadow over the water--it helps them visualize the fish underneath. Otherwise the glare of the sun on water makes it difficult to hunt. Birds are the best.🐦

Anyone who says Kylo Ren happily killed his father.
He literally had tears in his eyes and Snoke chided him for being torn up over it in TLJ but some of y'all watched this movie while playing Candy Crush and it shows.
what's your favorite "media literacy check". like a character or event that, depending on someone's opinion on it, shows if they can be trusted interpreting media.
SW dudebros will falsely and willfully misinterpret one comic to make reylo incest-by-magic because you're mad reylo happened, but some how a potential story of witch mothers making twins is "impossible".
Shadow of the Sith reinforces what I've always thought: Luke tries way too much to be formal with Ben, when the latter truly needed his uncle to be an uncle.
After watching today's The Bad Batch, I just realized most of the women in Omega's life are some kind of shady. 😆
Phee's a pirate, Cid's a hustler, Nala's a bold liar. Fennec said you've "got to bend the rules".
Omega's gotten a good education. 😊
One of my many criticisms of Ben Solo's death: it does nothing for Rey's character or story. She is the protagonist. Her character had already grown up with trauma, what purpose did it serve to give her more?
If a character death is set up well and serves the narrative, it won’t leave the audience wondering: “is the writer of this show trying to punish us for something?”
@mpychu
Who...do they think was making mega expensive and detailed Klingon costumes at conventions for decades? Who do they think organizes conventions?
I just...sigh... I'm begging people to understand how fairytales work. I am BEGGING you.
Read Eros and Psyche, Beauty and the Beast, The Lindworm. It is the heroine that chooses the beast, the prince is her boon, the same as the lady is the boon of the prince in Puss N Boots
Are you frikking kidding me?
No, they are not. They are not going to that huge of a retcon, when common sense shows they are not a dyad. Watch the damn movie. Obi-wan and Anakin don't pass objects across space, touch each other across space, nada.

@CBR
My mother, a boomer, read about this and said, "You know, this doesn't surprise me about him, when I think back to his interviews on TV ages ago. Good for him." Wish every boomer was a chill as her.
It's not that complicated. They have a mutual friend in Finn, but they are associates who don't vibe with each other at all.
If Finn wasn't there, they'd have no reason to be in the same room.

If it's not already, that can definitely be a new twitter account, I've so many so-called progressives spouting the most conservative, evangelical, focus-on-the-family, bullshit in the past year, and the lack of self-awareness is stunning.

That's what's at the back of my mind with this story. And DJT Jr has always seemed like the kind of person that would do that. My central question is why aren't DJT's family's snail mail being screened? I thought they were. Anyone know for sure?

By this bizarro logic, no one should wear clothes at all, because we could have scars and bruises from abuse or something that nobody sees.
@mylifeisaplague
@punished_cait
I have a dear old friend with paedophobia. She was actually a teacher and had no issue with children, but had a true phobia with infants. She had to leave the room if she saw one.
It's no different than phobias of snakes or heights, the anxiety and stress is genuine.
I swear what is it with those SW dude bros who think we don't understand TROS because we feel bad for Rey losing her "soulmate in the Force". Just say you don't understand the emotional implications of literal soulmates and go.
I see once again some blue check mark account that doesn't understand the difference between forgiveness and redemption.
Fun fact: Star Wars's philosophy is rooted in Buddhism and Methodist Christianity.
There is no such thing as "deserving" redemption.
Here is my only other photo of the book. It's one page of the dyad section. The other page has a unique cosmic image, and talks about how the Dyad is supposed to "usher in a new era".
The weirdest, stupidest thing about ship discourse on Twitter is how "tHeY sHiP rEyLo????" only applies to fans of it, never ever to men who write the stories themselves. When was the last time someone said, "JJ Abrams likes reylo? Ew!" 1/2
I don't know who needs to hear this, but don't get salty if Rey and Ben don't kiss in the Lego games. Just like the Golden Books, nobody kisses in them. It doesn't mean they aren't affectionate, it's just done through hugs. Not even Anakin and Padme ever kiss in them.
@SW_takes
I personally love when they complain about comic book aesthetics, because boy oh boy are they in for a treat when they see what my generation read.
Don't know who needs to hear this but the Dyad is one of the best things in Star Wars since the Chosen One, and nobody is retconning it.
Furthermore, the Dyad is as important as the Chosen One in prophecy.
Reylo fans arent wrong.
It's always amazes me how this space fairy tale has a heroine as its protagonist, and in fairy tale/myth framing, it is Rey who "gets" her prince [and loses him, but that's another topic]. But so many folks pivot to making Ben the one who "gets". That's not the story.
This is the entry for Kylo. The words are mostly Snoke's. Again, if you're wondering why Palpatine would put so much effort in having Rey created only to ask Kylo to kill her, it's because he doubts Kylo would do it.
@mavih_
I've always loved anime as a kid precisely because it's beautiful seeing villains better themselves. Hell I fell in love with ROTJ because Vader saving his son was far better than "baddie dies".
The idea that any portrayal of sexuality or even romance(!) as something that only belongs in porn, is a puritanical, sex-negative mentality that ultimately works to erase queer people and enforce bioessentialism.
The strong woman embodying the ancient, sexist trope of the "Virgin Warrior", who somehow becomes weakened if she has relations with men. It rears its head today with the "Strong women needs no men trope", but it really reinforces the notion that women are made weak w/sex.
A guy is like "How does Holdo have a new dye job while doing Rebellion stuff" but never questions how a poor scavenger woman in the desert has shaved legs.
@solosdyad
I actually think it works to keep it here. It emphasizes where Rey is getting tired and desperate, and also shows how Ben is not trying to kill her, just tire her.
The scene where Ben Solo talks to the memory of his father Han is in there. Nobody witnessed it and as far as we know Ben is dead. That means Ben told someone (guess who) about it after the events of TROS, AFTER his death.
@JPT_Arts
Force conceptions being a rare, but not unique, occurrence, doesn't explicitly negate Anakin being the Chosen One.
Qui gon Jinn finds that Anakin's blood harbors higher midichlorians than anyone else. Osha's midichlorians may be no higher than other Jedi.
