Thread 4 Women 1 - The Shafii madhab & other scholars: it is recommended for women to pray in congregation. 2 - Hadiths show women prayed in congregation during the time of the Prophet pbuh. 3 - The wife of Umar RA went to the mosque regardless of whether or not Umar RA approved.

No the tables have not turned. For one, announcing the marriage is specified in a hadith. Scholars have stated that this is to separate a marriage from illicit relations. On what grounds can the husband forbid his wife from telling his family/friends or the wider community?

4 - Women receive the same rewards of praying in congregation as men do. 5 - They also receive additional reward if they pray at home because not every woman has the time to go to congregation. 6 - The hadith of the Prophet pbuh stating to never prevent women from going.

Additionally, if they have children - wouldn't that risk the rights of those children not being respected in terms of inheritance, of time/money spent between each wife/family (if he remarried), or the children's rights to maintenance in the event of a divorce?

I need desi men to shut up and stop yapping & rehabilitating an institution they only know as johns since its not widespread amongst their women. Misyar originated as a tool for sex trafficking. In diaspora, it targeted converts or women from broken families or single mothers.
