180 days in, here's the latest: today, following a fever, Gus tested positive for rhinovirus (the cold) - typically not a big deal, but in his case, potentially serious. Also, to follow up on his TEE from earlier this week: the findings explain why his TR has persisted post-op.

Hello friends. Here's an update on Gus: Today is another big day for us. Gus will have his chest closed up shortly. This involves closing his sternotomy and repositioning the cannulas for the ECMO circuit to his neck. We are once again waiting and praying. Please pray for this

Hello, friends. The last few days have been good overall, despite ongoing issues with his lines and chest drainage. Gus is scheduled for a cath procedure to balloon his SVC a second time. The procedure is slotted for around 4 pm. Cath days are long and tiring for all of us.
