@NHL_Watcher Easiest fix is to set an AAV cap on the 20 players dressed in any playoff game. The 20 players dressed combined regular season AAV cannot exceed the cap. Teams can carrying $100m in AAV contracts but can only dress $83.5m of that total in any playoff game.

@ProducerDrew_ So the NHL cap is set to increase about $4m and Nylander is set to get about a $4.6m raise. With Matthews already set to get a $1.6m raise. Wouldn’t that mean bleeding more talent just to keep the core 4 guys? And people still believe the Leafs aren’t in a cap crunch. Lol

@KPapetti Leafs have selected 1st Matthews 4th Marner 5th Rielly 7th Kadri 8th Nylander Signed Tavares 1st Jumbo 1st Spezza 2nd Bogo 3rd And have not been past 1st round of playoffs. But they do tremendously in the regular season.

@ryanfancey @CarltonLeafs What does Tanev having 9 points have to do with his value to a roster? Teams don’t trade for Tanev to add scoring. Rosters need all types of players, the ones that stop ‘points’ are also very valuable. Goalies don’t get points but everyone wants a great one.
