Until you’ve written a suicide note with despair in your heart, tears in your eyes, and pain in your soul so horrendous that it makes you believe death is the only solution for peace, don’t tell me that it’s cowardly, selfish, or an attempt for attention.

People who were suicidal due to mental illness never tried to kill themselves. They tried to kill the pain they thought would never go away. They were casualties of a war fought in their head. Unless you’ve been on the battlefield, you wouldn’t understand.

Suicide as a result of a mental illness is not a sign of weakness, selfishness, or cowardly. It’s an act of desperation to escape the pain that haunts their minds and consumes their hearts. Stop worrying about defining the act and focus on saving the lives of those struggling.

Those who’ve died by suicide due to mental illness don’t deserve your damnation. Those struggling daily to survive don’t deserve your hate. You’re not in a position to judge others in these situations simply because you’ve been fortunate enough to haven’t (yet) experienced it.

Those who are suicidal due to mental illness aren’t happily anticipating death like a kid waiting for Santa. They fear it just like everyone else and don’t want to die. The pain is horrendous. Do you know how badly one must feel to believe that death is a better option than life?

Suicidal ideation due to mental illness is when you’re already dead inside and want the body to follow because its heartbeat is only prolonging the pain. Pay attention to the warning signs of a loved one in distress and act accordingly because hesitation could lead to a funeral.

Depression is when you knock on my door. I’m not home, even when I am. You ring my phone. I’m unavailable, even when I’m free. You ask me how I am. I say I’m fine, even when I’m anything but. It’s isolating, devastating, and potentially deadly.

There’s someone right now who’s trying to find a reason to stay alive. They feel alone, like a burden, & unnecessary. They feel unloved, unheard, & unseen. Their minds are torturing them & trying to push them over the edge. You might know this person. You might be this person.

Sadly, there are many souls on the verge of suicide and are keeping that secret silent. It’s not because they want to hurt or deceive you, but rather, they want the pain to subside, and society doesn’t make it easy for them to survive.

Suicide is the absence of hope. The hope that the pain will subside. The hope that you aren’t all alone. The hope that there are better days ahead. As long as there is life, there is always hope, but with death, all hope is truly gone. Please don’t ever give up hope on yourself.

People with mental illness don't "commit" suicide. You wouldn't say that someone committed cancer. Suicide is the fatal outcome of said illness. The word "commit” gives the impression they made a conscious decision w/a sound mind to end their life, negating the underlying cause.

A message to men. Crying is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of compassion, love and strength. It takes a brave person to allow themselve to be vulnerable. Step out from behind the stereotype that binds you and embrace your emotions for the betterment of your mental health.

Suicide due to mental illness doesn’t mean they sacrificed themselves for a simple solution, but what it does mean, unfortunately, is that they suffered until they succumbed to suicide because the struggle to survive was too strenuous for their souls.

I had an extremely difficult day mentally. I couldn’t get out of bed for most of it, and when I did, all I could think about was getting back into it. I felt out of sorts and couldn’t find the motivation to do anything. I’m hoping a good nights rest will help me feel better.

Every day you survive when struggling w/suicidal ideation is another day worth celebrating. I know it’s not easy. It’s frustrating, exhausting, & excruciating. However, w/each new day, you have a chance to overcome the demons from your past & the potential for better days ahead.

Depression will crush your heart and conquer your soul if left untreated. You versus yourself isn’t a fair fight. Your attacks telegraphed, your fears used against you, and your weaknesses exploited. I know it’s not a battle easily won, but it’s one worth fighting.

Depression is wanting to disappear but still being visible to someone who will care. If depression made sense, it wouldn’t end in suicide.
