With a farmer today, noticed he was bagging spuds. Sells them to a shop in Sligo, asked had he many rejects. Landed me with a bag of these brutes! Mad to think the consumer won’t buy these. It’ll keep us going through the Christmas anyways!

Noticed the water pressure was poor at home & in the bar for the last 3 weeks so got onto the local Irish water guy, found that there was a leak. This little hole in a 50yr old joint was pushing out 18cube, yes 18,000litres a day under the kitchen floor! Mad the power of water!

Stock moved onto ground that was scored for #ACRES this week, did quite well in the scoring. Was close to housing them with the way ground is gone now, gonna try & get away without it, but conditions are….soggy 😵‍💫 Calves started on creep 10 days, .5kg/hd/day, going well 🤞🏻

12 acres of meadow ground soil tested in November, Index 1 for P & K. 1 Bag 10-10-20 and 2.5 bags of Cut sward on 1st of April. Super growth since, cut date expected for 24th May. Shows there’s growth there if brave enough to spread fert! 👌🏻

@JerryMoloney1 Finally someone speaking sense. Dairy beef has its place, and is profitable for some, but you need to be able to do this system on dry land with large volumes of grass available for 10/10.5 months of the year, sadly not possible in vast majority of West of Ireland.

@EannaOR Absolutely no reason to change it back now. In Roscommon Leagues were fully completely along with finals by 2nd week of July, a couple of weeks break & 1st round of all championship played last weekend, very well organised & easy for club players to plan. @RoscommonGAA fair dues

@ashleighfen Worked for a fella baling when I was in college and had a farmer waiting in the yard at 3 in the morning when I got back to get me to come and bale because of rain coming in the morning, didn’t rain for 2 days after. He went to bed when I got there. Some fellas are just arseholes

Said with the new rules around fertiliser usage & allowances it was best get samples done. To say the sheep cleaned the ground would be an understatement 😅🙈 Hopefully get samples back, lick of slurry & should make a super award for grazing in 5 weeks when gentle get out 🤞🏻

You just have to laugh about how pubs/restaurants/nightclubs are being blamed again for the complete clusterf**k of a situation the gvrmt have gotten us into. Delayed boosters, contract tracing, actually enforcing/closing venues flaunting rules. 1/
