I made this to try to sum up the utter madness that is the 2021-22 #SAFC season with the ups, downs & ultimate high in promotion. I wanted to do something like this since the season ended & it took a lot of work to put together! Am I sad? Oh, yes. But I’m definitely proud of it.

One year ago today. #SAFC FINALLY ended their stay in League One, hopefully forever. The relief at full time was something else but it was nice to be the ones being congratulated for a change. Hopefully this game is the last time we’re ever associated with that awful division.

Just for perspective on #SAFC after Ipswich draw. 19-20: 22 games - 32 points. 20-21: 22 games - 36 points. 21-22: 22 games - 43 points. Both seasons at this stage we were nine points off top two. This season we’re just under two points per game & currently two points off 2nd.

Bit annoying conceding late on but Coventry are a decent side & a well established Championship one. First 30 mins in particular I thought #SAFC were very good in terms of solidity & structure. Coventry grew into it & deserved their equaliser for me. Important not to have lost.

Looking at the current table, barring an unlikely final day goal swing, the lowest #SAFC can finish this season is 9th. After four years in League One this is still a very good, solid first year back in the Championship & even more so with Alex Neil going & lots of key injuries.

I have to admit this is a shocking call. If I were Norwich I’d be furious as Sargent could’ve had a very good goal scoring chance. Decision to give a free kick against Clarke when Aaron’s went down was just as bad a call. Appalling standard of ref again.

In terms of structure #SAFC were absolutely excellent tonight. I really liked Mowbray but that’s the sort of thing I’m on about. Change it up when necessary from time to time. Defensively class (FINALLY A CLEAN SHEET) & we had the better chances. Superb effort from all the lads!

#SAFC fully deserved that for me. Times you could tell we missed Stewart & Simms. But also when Diallo, Ba & Bennette came on, they were fearless and kept going to the end. Limbs at the end when the second equaliser went in. Great point. Four points & five goals away from home.

That was one of the best atmospheres I’ve seen at the Stadium of Light. #SAFC fans got right behind the players & came together against what was an abysmal ref. First-half pressed & defended well. Second-half had to battle that out, but big win. Back at two points per game too!

I accept he may not be playing against great opposition, but good to see Hemir scoring early doors. Hopefully he replicates that in the Championship. We’ve had strikers who couldn’t score early doors & never recovered. Fingers crossed Hemir is the exact opposite.

It’s extremely unlikely that #SAFC will finish top two but looking at the points gap to 2nd makes me even angrier at these results (this is without the heavy losses): Fleetwood, Shrewsbury, Accrington, Cheltenham, Wimbledon (A) Lincoln, Doncaster (H). Thrown away 17 points 🤦‍♂️

Out of possession in particular, #SAFC were outstanding. Defensively to keep a Burnley side out who’ll still win the league comfortably for 90 minutes is a superb effort. Gooch, O’Nein & Batth in particular were quality but Gooch my POTM. Brilliant all around. Fantastic point.

- I was at Lee Johnson's last game (6-0 Bolton) & not once did I hear anyone shouting for him to go. - Alex Neil walked out on us to go to Stoke. Look how that went. - Many Sunderland fans didn't want Tony Mowbray gone. But aye, self-entitled & hound everyone out apparently.

Yes they weren’t good today but IMO with Rohl, #SWFC will still be a top half side. Wish them well this season (unless at our expense 😉). But #SAFC were very good. Jobe, Neil & Rigg (he’s not human) ran the show. Roberts & Cirkin very good. Buzzing for Mayenda’s confidence too.

Only #SAFC could lose their main talisman & two days later produce an absolutely outstanding performance against one of the favourites for title, never mind promotion. We were exceptional today. Had the better chances throughout & defensively brilliant. What a bloody win. HWTL❤️

Defensively THAT is what I’m talking about. Barring Max Aarons’ early chance, I thought #SAFC were outstanding at the back. Ballard & Batth in particular were superb. Put their bodies on the line for everything & Norwich have very good players for this level. Clean sheet too 😍

Agree fully with the lads on the podcast, O’Nein has to be given a long term contract - at least three years. There’s a few players I’d want to keep whichever league we are in, but O’Nein is the first contract I’d sort. #SAFC make it happen please.

Not including the playoff home leg v Luton, #SAFC only won seven times at the Stadium Light in the Championship last season. This season we have won five out of our first eight home games. Hopefully this is an upward trend & is good reading for the rest of the season.

For me, Ba was MOTM/POTM today. Thought he was immense in his work rate & contributed with two assists plus a goal. Even I started to question if he was good enough to start games but fair play to the bloke. Really good today for me.
