@jh_swanson In fact, I would like to find a synagogue that is not just blindly supportive of Israel and engages in meaningful debate as to how we live our faith and values. In the meantime, I am left with a shul that plays hatikvah to close our holiday event.

Until middle class Americans stop imaging that they are fundamentally different from poor people, and develop some modicum of solidarity, craven politicians will exploit this lack of solidarity to avoid doing even the bare minimum for American families 3/3

For too long, politicians have convinced Americans that government programs are only useful for poor people. "Poor programs are **poor** programs", whereas "normal" Americans don't want/need any government support. 1/3

@MaxJordan_N @jbullockruns Totally feel this as an Israeli who moved here and restarted some of my training. In Israel we argue, often vocally, and debate. In the US it’s pretty top down. Attdg asked - do you want to call renal ? Me - oh no not really. Oh oops not an actual question…
