Abandoned Lines: Lubuk Alung-Padang Panjang-Sawahlunto Line, a freight line left to rot. (A thread) This line was opened in and around 1890s by SSS, Staatspoorwegen op Sumatra Weskust to connect the Teluk Bayur Seaport to the Mountains of Padang for it's coal reserve.

In 2006, a train was hijacked by a mentally-ill woman from a Pertamina fuel sidings in Bangil. The 23 car train that was bound for Malang was shunted around to be broken into 5 consists to fit the small siding at Bangil station. (cont.)

Railway tracks may not be used in any way except for the running of trains. Sure the roads are blocked and all those stuff, but walking on rail lines is beyond stupid. Because of this "event", trains are either delayed or cancelled.

@janganmlanding Sebenarnya sudah ada alat tersebut yang dipasang sebagai pengamanan pada sarana KAI, yang disebut cowhanger (yang dilingkari) yang bertujuan untuk menggiring benda asing keluar dari rel KA. Cowhanger sirip masih bisa jebol karena entah dari faktor kecepatan atau kerasnya benda.

BREAKING: A lorry has been struck by Brantas intercity train at Madukoro Raya level crossing tonight (18/7) 7.30pm. The lorry, after being struck by the train, slams into the bridge, then bursts into flames. All trains has been suspended due to this incident.

Today, (21/06) around 11 am, a minivan has been struck by an express train at Tambun station heading to Cikarang. 1 person is confirmed dead on scene after he tried to save his car from the tracks. The car was dragged 2kms away from the initial crash scene. (Thread)

NEWS: Today, 7.00 AM local time, a lorry carrying speakers for a nearby event, struck by a local train at Semarang-Lamongan line. Both the locomotive and the lorry suffers from a major damage. Chronology of this incident is still unknown.

Leaf and wave mates. Leaf and wave. 2 kinds of Standard Class (Economy) coaches built by INKA in the late 2000s. The left is a non Airco carriage, usually used on local lines, but also used for Intercity trains. These were built in 2008. Commonly known as Nutrisari.

Do you know? Argo Bromo's (Now Argo Bromo Anggrek) K1 carriages used to have press-button-to-open plug doors on each end of the coaches. This system was later phased out in the mid 2010s, in favour of normal slam-doors.

Deep condolences for Mr. Abdul Hamid (Pak Ogah). He died today at 7.30 PM WIB. Pak Abdul Hamid is a puppeteer on the children's show "Si Unyil". He voiced Pak Ogah since the era of TVRI Si Unyil from 1981 until today. May he rest in peace.

The forgotten tourist train. "Punakawan" was a tourist train that used to run on the Purwosari-Solokota line before Batara Kresna was a thing. The train don't do well as intended, the service doesn't have the sufficient ridership. The train stopped service in 2010.

I wonder what Indonesia would be like today if trams still ran, considering we had one of the largest tram networks in the southern hemisphere, both electric and steam traction. I would love a tram just whizzing around Central Jakarta or rural Ponorogo (yes they did have trams).

The West Sumatran Legends Seen here at Bukit Putus freight yard near the Teluk Bayur Port, 4 engines still in the iconic Perumka livery. Including the now gone BB204. One of the trains here is the Indarung cement train that shuttles back and forth from Indarung to Bukit Putus.

Idk about you, but I think BN-Holec EMU is a good train. Just arrived at the wrong place and wrong time. If BN-Holec came to Jakarta right now, it would be functioning as normal considering we had upgraded the electrification system across the network.

Best kept station in Daop 6 belongs to Solo Jebres in my opinion. Everything, and I mean *everything* from the Dutch occupation era is very well kept in this quaint station in front of a traditional market.

@Adorikun @minumaquagalon Electric Multiple Unit sekelas JR205 (yang di gambar) braking performancenya lebih bagus ketimbang kereta rel diesel (DMU) atau kereta ditarik lokomotif. Batu segede gaban yang di rel kereta jg keliatan jelas banget, apalagi kalau jalur rel di gambar lurus.

The long gone A piece of disused rack railway at Bedono - Secang line, seen it's last train in 1976, when the line closed for good. I visited this place in 2021, it's still there, right under the ground.

Back in the golden age of Indonesian Railway, or Netherlands-Indië as it was called back then, trains are the most economic and fastest way to deliver goods and taking passengers to their destination, with 3 classes of carriages, and various goods to deliver.

Seems like a trip is being arranged (sort of) A bunch of international tourists took a train trip across the Lubuk Alung - Sawahlunto line to enjoy the stunning views by rail. They disembark the train at Padang Panjang to stretch their legs and watch the engine switching sides.

Manahan Intercity train (KA 76) struck a dump truck near Ketanggungan, West Java, today at (15/2/24) at 2.19 PM. Because of this, the leading engine has slightly derailed from the tracks because of this incident. 2 people were killed. More information will be provided.

This morning at 03:56 (30/3), an intercity train (Turangga No. 80) collided with a cattle feed truck at a level crossing on the Sembung - Jombang line. The engine, the front of CC206 13 99, was badly damaged and the front axle derailed.

Wait, do you remember Cianjuran? Before the end of regional feeder trains was discontinued in 2011-ish, Cianjuran or "Argo Peuyeum" as the locals calls it, is a service connecting Padalarang-Bandung on the now half-abandoned Tagog Apu bypass line.

Semaphore signals is a nightmare for mainlines, you have to keep focusing between things. It's fine for lines that don't see much traffic or branchlines.
