When I started my career, my salary was N70K or so. I used to hitch a ride with my neighbour to save transportation cost, I remember we used to leave the house at 5am and get to Ikoyi by 5:30am. It was tough but 15 years later, I can resume when I like as long as work gets done

I can’t join people to hate on Dangote. I worked on an IFRS conversion project for Dangcem in Obajana, Kogi State and I know what I saw in terms of investment. It takes sheer audacity and commitment.

Unpopular career advice: If you work for a company with a great brand, try to leverage their brand to improve your personal profile. Build relationships with clients, vendors, etc beyond what is required on the job. Offer to do presentations on behalf of your company, etc etc.

If you’re a young accountant (with no connection) you may be better off starting out your career from an accounting firm. I talk to so many young accountants who are so eager to start earning... hmmm. You will earn but for now just put in the work.

@MTforChange Another way to look at this is that it keeps them alive. Life expectancy in America is quite high up there and many of these people may actually die from being idle. I found it fascinating that some uber drivers were well in their 70’s.

Going to Covenant University is NET positive despite the “bad press” it gets. CU has done a lot wrt positioning its graduates for global opportunities. Of course you need to put in the work but it helps if you already have a foundation to build on.

I went on a friendship date today with someone I met at during my last salon visit. She reached out to me because as per usual I chochocho’d a lot and she thought I made sense. Such a bold and intentional way to make friends in your 30’s. Date was so so much fun.

The biggest extra cost for manufacturing in Nigeria is extortion. If all forms of extortion are removed, particularly from the highways, productivity will go up significantly.

This time last week, called my mom only to find out that my Dad's BP was in the 200's, he had just been given injections. I immediately raised an altar in my room & within my prayer group. Thankfully, Daddy walked me down the aisle. The devil lost the battle yet again. Oluwaseun!

Everytime I attend a “church” event in Nigeria, I silently wonder how our country would look like if half of the people in the room follow the tenets of the teachings of these events. I don’t know if that is judgmental though, I just like to wonder.
