To be clear, the subreddit is by far and away the biggest and most active forum for junior doctors in the UK. Every month, we receive more visitors and page views than the BMJ. Within an hour of the BMA update being posted, it had been viewed 18k times. Total views >80k.

To be clear Never- not once, not ever Has any PA personal information been allowed on the subreddit. We strictly enforce this policy for doctors and PAs and ban users for this. To go on radio and say otherwise is misinformation.
@Dr_Done_

It is morally reprehensible to go on national radio and threaten the possibility of a suicide in response to doctors highlighting concerns about PAs. Not once does he address WHY there have been >90 recent news articles, just that it’s bad for PAs.

@ShaunLintern We're really disappointed to be described as the "house magazine of DV" and a group of "online trolls". The mods were not contacted for comment. With 1.4k posts and 43k comments in the last 30 days only a minority are related to BMA elections, which were moderated strictly.

Re-ran the same search this year- FY doctors posts' in their first MONTH of the job. These are deeply concerning, as is the volume which seems to have doubled. We ask again- when will FYs get the support they need? @BMA_JuniorDocs @drcolinm @UKFPO

@ShaunLintern We also object to the sensationalist description of Reddit as a "dark corner of the internet". Not only is the subreddit public and viewable by anyone without needing to register, we get more traffic than the BMJ, and are the largest and most active forum for doctors in the UK.

The moderators of the subreddit run it as an entirely neutral platform, and anyone can post or discuss on here. To disregard this as a rapid communication medium is folly

@ShaunLintern Anyone can make a post on the subreddit, it just happens that the veil of anonymity is now holding a candle to the onslaught of bullying and poor working conditions experienced by doctors in the NHS. Are these the posts of a group of trolls?

r/JDUK has done more to improve the working lives of postgraduate doctors in training than the dinosaur HEE, or any of the royal colleges. With a new subreddit, we look forward to extending that to our consultant, GP, SAS and other professional medical colleagues.

@iDrSunny I had no idea what the BMA was doing prior to 2021, when they started engaging (listening and responding) on social media. Lots of doctors feeling more connected than ever to their union via social media, much better than diktats via email.

@RowanLGossedge @TharushaGunawa4 @techpriest @JonJHilton I'd absolutely dispute this. Every comment can be reported, we remove any comments which are bullying and hand out bans. Did anyone report the comments? And none of the moderators have ever been involved in bullying behaviour, to insinuate that is ridiculous.
