Hijabis! If you’re out protesting with potential to be tear gassed, bring an extra hijab to change into after. The tear gas residue will stay on your original scarf and potentially get back into your eyes/skin (activated by sweat) after the initial effects have worn off.

We got to the station, and ate some shawerma before I showed him which platform he needed (he was catching a train to meet his brothers in another city). The amount of du’aa this boy made for me almost brought me to tears. He kept saying “no one would do what you’ve done for me”

Just landed back in Berlin, and typically the passport control/immigration officers can be… abrupt to say the least. So I held my breath watching as a Arab woman in hijab with about 7 kids went up to the window. It was clear they had just arrived from the Middle East

Turns out was 19, and had just made it to Germany after 7 years of living in Turkey. He decided to leave and come to Germany bc the racism against Syrians was too much. It took him 2 months to get here after being stuck in Greece for weeks. 22 attempts to catch a flight out!

It took the @NFL over an hour after a player collapsed on the field and received CPR for 10 minutes in front of his teammates to make the call that the game would not be resumed tonight. After initially wanting them to play after a 5 min break. Shameful and utterly horrific.

I was removed from a flight for something that wasn't my fault. And my blood sugar was out of range for hours because I was forced to check my hand luggage despite making it clear, I NEEDED the bag. So, now what, @British_Airways ? This has not been resolved.

Anyway, turns out he was trying to call the woman’s husband to confirm he’d be there to get her because he was concerned she didn’t know where to go and had so many kids. (I think address confirmation as well). Throughout the exchange he kept smiling at her saying, “all is ok!”

Bless the LHR staff, they did their best but couldn't secure my carry-on in time to allow me to board the flight. But they were all extremely upset that I had been forced to check my carry-on in the first place given the circumstance. And all agreed I was due compensation.

Once I got to my connection in London, my pump was giving me an occlusion alarm. I had extra insulin, but quickly realized I didn't have any backup sets in my backpack. So I rushed to the gate, and informed them that I would need my carry-on before boarding the flight.
