Whilst rescuing a sheep stuck in the hedge I discovered a very very poorly badger. My super brave wife used bare hands to grab its legs (it was headfirst in shallow tunnel) I could not grip w gloves. Once out I took over as it tried to bite a little. Rushed to @SWWR #secretworld

I have tachycardia. Last attack took me to hospital. consultant from Nigeria fixed my 200bpm heart! An Indian consultant then looked after me (also teaching students). A sad lady cried “help” all night- a Spanish nurse gave her bed pan and kindness great people for our great NHS

I had a medical issue yesterday- chest pains etc. went to Bristol Royal Infirmary A and E. They were brilliant. Irish? Assessment nurse, Siri Lankan nurse, ECG etc, Asian Doctor. Professional, friendly,kind. Our NHS is a wonder- nothing else like it in the world. Thank you NHS.

Just got an update from the brilliant British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) who have a number of cuckoos satellite tagged. Cuckoo PJ has started his journey from Angola to us he’s crossed the Congo, East Gabon. Should reach Ivory Coast by early March. Then on to us. Just awesome

I have not seen a greenfinch on my feeders for some years have you?- Also very few chaffinches this year? Lots of tits glad to say. Shocked to find we have lost 60% of our breeding green finches to disease (2.5 million birds) since 2006.
